In my opinion, this has always been the greatest album that ever came from 'The Carpenters' - partly due to the proof in the fact that I have played this more than any other they did, and on more than one occasion, have re-played this instantly immediately it has ended! I always find this album is over all too quickly... Once again; my firmly held belief that most of the greatest works are indeed the shortest, and leave the listener wanting more!

Ironically, though Karen would die soon after recording this album, her voice seems at its most relaxed. This is a collection of ten beautifully 'serious' songs with some 'gripping' melodies that was to put 'The Carpenters' once again firmly riding high in the album charts, this had been after seven years of failing since their last top ten hit 'A Kind Of Hush' in '76.

Here on this you will find some of the most beautiful Carpenters songs ever recorded. There's a very 'gentle' crescendo that grows in 'Your Baby Doesn't Love You Anymore' which climaxes with the beautifully melancholic 'Look To Your Dreams' finale.

This is a Carpenters masterpiece!

Voice of the heart is a classic Carpenters album, but a very thought provoking one as well, this a great album to listen to when you are alone on a cold wet night.I would highely reccomend this classic to any Carpenters fan on just an easy listening fan. You do not have to be a die-hard fan to enjoy this music.

When you listen to this CD you realise just how much Karen Carpenter is missed .It saddens me to think that I am unlikely to come accross many more "gems " like this unless there is more of her music out there,as yet, unreleased
