To make it short I love "Vision in White" by Nora Roberts. The book, the first one in the bride quartet, is full of love and friendship, makes me laugh and smile and is just beautiful to read.
"Vision in White" introduces Mackensie, Parker, Laurel and Emmaline. The four woman have been best friends since they were little girls and they spent many days in their childhood playing getting married. From just playing they went to planning weddings and now run a successful wedding planer business.
Mackensie, a photographer, loves her job and especially making someone else's wedding day and the pictures of it just perfect. But she doesn't believe in a happily ever after for herself because an absent father and an egoistic and unstable mother made her wary of marriage and longterm relationships.
When she meets nerdy, cute (with a capital C), intelligent and charming Carter Maguire she is shocked that she starts thinking of a future that includes him. Carter is a great hero, he is smart but also easily flustered and still sure of what he wants in life. Their meeting scene is just hilarious and even though Mackensie is afraid to enter a serious relationship she cannot stop getting more and more involved with Carter.
But Mac's doubts and her ongoing struggle to handle her selfish mother are making her afraid to trust in her love for Carter. But thank god Carter is also strong-willed and not ready to let go of the one woman that completes his life and for whom he had a teenage crush 13 years ago (so sweet when he tells her about it).
"Vision in White" is a beautiful book. I love the wedding theme, heroine and hero are adorable and their relationship is sweet and sexy at the same time. The friendship of the four woman just warms my heart and their scenes together are so touching.

Nora Roberts does it again! I have read every book she has written including her JD Robb series and she always delivers. Vision in White is a glorious read, about friendship and (reluctant) love. Nora Roberts books are unputdownable once you start. You have some laugh out loud moments throughout the book and when you have finished this book you want to start it all over again. Brilliant and totslly recommended. Cant wait for the 2nd one in the series.

Before I start I have to admit that I am sad to have to give this such a low rating because normally Nora Robert's books give me hours of pleasure. In all fairness though I couldn't give this more than three stars for quality, largely down to the lack of plot. Vision in White has all the usual Nora trademarks as it deals with women, their friendships and bonds, and the main character looking for her place in life and hopefully meeting a sexy man to spend that life with. Mackensie and her three friends Parker (the smart type A business women), Laurel (the sarcastic baker), and Emma (the sexy heartbreaker with a heart of gold) run a multi strand wedding planning company with Mackensie as the wedding photographer.

Firstly, the one thing that I can always rely on a Nora Roberts book for was happily present; the four women are all strong and individual characters whose friendship leaps off the page. The best scenes for me are when the four friends are together to hash out problems or the scenes where they reminisce about their shared childhood. Unfortunately for Mac her childhood aside from strong friendships was less than idyllic with a weak and selfish mother and a distant and emotionally unavailable father having left her ironically cynical about the longevity of marriage and unable to form good relationships. Enter the frankly adorable Carter Maguire the Yale educated professor who decides to put down roots in his hometown and teach high school english.

The relationship between Carter and Mac is fantastic and they appear to be well matched and there is an easy chemistry in their dialogue. I loved their first meeting particularly Mac's retelling of it to the girls as a 'sexy breakfast story!

I love Nora Roberts's Novels, I have been reading them since she was published under Silhouette Desire (a long time!) I used to automatically buy and order the next ones.
But recently her novels have seemed to me to lack sparkle and depth.
I feel like I want to suggest she has a long holiday and stop feeling the need to keep churning out the "same old", because it feels like she is going through the motions rather than "living and feeling with her characters".
I had such high hopes for this novel as it reminded me of her "Dreams" Trilogy" but i found myself putting it down and struggling to read it half way through, which is a first for me with a Nora Roberts. She used to make me cry, laugh and feel with the characters. Now I find myself unable to do that as the charcters have not enough depth to them for me to feel with them. I actually found myself going "blah blah blah" and almost throwing the book accross the room.
For me the best part of this book was the Chapter snap shot of the next novel which i hope will be better. As with most Nora Roberts fan's I know she can do better than this and I will continue to read each book, I just will walk on the way to get it rather than run like i used to.
