The Violet Trilogy (The Gilded Flower Trilogies Books 7-9) Kindle Edition
Top Customer Reviews
I have to start by saying that you really need to read this trilogy after the previous two - Lily and Dahlia - they absolutely fit together and you really do have to read them in order to understand what a great series this is. I am now going to write assuming that you have read them - so if not - go and get reading - and probably you won't even need my review to know that you have to read this trilogy!
So, I enjoyed Lily's story; I absolutely loved Dahlia's and was a little nervous and reluctant to start Violet's because the clues at the end of Dahlia's were a little concerning. But obviously I did pluck up courage and I have to say it is the BEST of them all. Not just because the love story(ies) are fascinating, but because everything is tied together brilliantly. WOW, Ms Winslow, I am really impressed with how you did that, really, really loved how the plots intersected, diverged, pulled back together and then confounded. I cannot wait to find the time to read all of the books in one long indulgent Lily/Dahlia/Violet fest!
Violet's story was really worth reading, on so many levels. Her issues with her absent father played out well; her 'business' dealings were interesting both before and after NY; her romances were hot, passionate and revealing of elements of her character. Her friendships were deep, important and always worthy of protection. I love her nature, and her view of life - even more than I loved Dahlia's - I did not expect to feel that way ... thank you!

Hidden Violet - We learn a lot about Vi in this book. If you thought Wild Violet was chalk full of information about Violet's past, this one is full of all the problems and craziness of the present.
And we finally, FINALLY, get to read about the man I've been waiting for AGES to read about! And he and Vi... *sigh* Why this girl is fighting her feelings so hard, the world may never know. (Although, I hope we'll know by the end of the next book!) I'd go into the details, but you should definitely read it for yourself.
I CANNOT believe Vi decided to do what she did at the end of this book!!! I NEED the next one to see if this is actually a good choice for her or not.
True Violet - The men in Vi's life have been lording every part of her life lately, including her sex life, and she's tired of it. Without being disrespectful (most of the time) she starts taking matters into her own hands. She may be making (some) other people happy, but she's doing it all her way.
After the ending of Hidden Violet, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to happen for her...but then about 15% or so into this book, and I wasn't sure what was right for Vi anymore. At 25%, I was almost in tears. At 44%, I was nervous as h-e-double-hockey-sticks for Vi! At 52%, I thought I was going to have a heart attack, and almost threw my tablet across the room! 59%: I used to hate Vi's dad...but he's really growing on me! The laugh-out-loud moments I've had due to that man's words... :-D 60%: A blast from the past, and one I'd like to punch in the face!
And the end!!! I'm so, SO happy for Violet! I REALLY hope there will be more in this series, because as crazy as it is, I really want to know what else is in store for them all!
Violet Rai has always been the fun, easy going one out of Lily, Dahlia, Thomas and herself. But as the series has progressed, things have come to light and things are not as they have always seems.
I have to admit, it took me a little while to get into the first part of this trilogy (but that just could have been my frame of mind at the time, as the rest I ploughed through)
There is so much going on in Vi's life, at times I was wondering how she was keeping it all together. But boy did I admire her!
I felt that The Violet Trilogy delved a bit deeper than that Lily and Dahlia trilogies - I loved them both, but at times I felt they only scratched the surface of the characters involved, whereas Vi's got right down to the nitty gritty of life, the universe and everything.
Yes, there was still plenty of sexy times - phew, were there some HOT sexy times - but this installment was more.
There was some closure on some things that have been building through all three trilogies that come to a head - some good, some bad - and I felt that Ms Winslow treated these storylines with the respect that they deserved.
The one thing I would have liked more of is the story of Thomas - Vi's best male friend. Even though his story felt organic and real, I would just love to know more.
So, when all is said and done, will Vi get the HEA she craves - even though she never thought she wanted it?
Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all three trilogies in this series, and hope someday we get some more.

This is a combined review of all three books.
I loved all the books. I loved Violet when I first met her in the Lily books. She was strong, passionate, sassy and a good friend. These books are her mystery and its unveiling. What an unveiling it was. It was like unwrapping a long awaited gift; each layer kept getting better and better and the excitement mounted to a thrilling ending.
For me the ending was a bit of a let down because its not how I wanted it to end. But that doesn’t mean it’s not the right ending for our character. I think Vi got exactly what she wanted and I am sure a lot of you will see it her way as well.
These books take us on a journey of discovering oneself, discovering the hearts ability to love to full capacity and shear suspense of what the heck is going to happen next. Vivian writes super hot sex and the characters in these pages do not disappoint in that department one bit. Vivian’s writing flows beautifully from page to page. It’s so smooth you will be slammed in the face with the curve ball before you see it coming. Great writing!
We get to visit the characters from the other trilogies like Lily, Dahlia, Alejandro, Poppy, Thomas and many others. I really enjoy books that include past characters. I was sad to see this series end.
I would highly recommend this book and the entire series. Read them all and get the entire scandal… no stone unturned. You will not be disappointed in the least.
I am a huge Vivian Winslow fan and love her books.
Vivian Winslow's "Hidden Violet" is the second story in the Violet Trilogy and the eighth tale in the Gilded Flower universe. We get to know some of the men in Violet's life. Again, there are a whole cast of characters and you never know who she'll end up with eventually. I know who I'm rooting for. This one had a little more back story and a little less nookie than the other ones, but the nookie that was there was hawt, as always. The end will make you wish the next story was already available - I know I do! Hurry up and end my torture, Ms. Winslow!
Vivian Winslow's "True Violet" is the last book in her Vi Trilogy and the ninth tale in The Gilded Flower series. It's a sexy read, as always. Violet has had her choice in men all her life and now, she just needs to decide which one will be the forever one. I like the ending to Violet's story - she picks the right guy, IMHO. Lots of delicious sex scenes. I wonder what Vivian Winslow will write next? Whatever it is, I'm in!
Let me start by saying that I have enjoyed this series from the very first book. The secrets, friendships, drama and love that continued to unfold throughout the series with these last few books, we finally get to see secrets revealed and truths that we had no idea about. But in the end friendship and love is the key to happiness.
As Vi comes to learn that actions have consequences, what will she do to protect her friends and family? She must step up to the plate and handle things behind the scenes. And if that means leaving a broken heart or two in her wake then she will do it.
When Vi is given the opportunity to set the past right, she will jump at the chance to finally let it all go. She is a smart business woman who is willing to show the world that she means business. As she is becoming more into her father’s favor, she will make an enemy or two along the way. Vi has no worries that she can handle them too.
But what Vi was not prepared for losing her heart to a man that she meet years ago only to run into again. The feelings and emotions that he brings out in her will become her undoing but in the end will it be all worth it? Can love be everything Vi wanted? Can she have her professional career as a major business woman and a man to love her too?
