I was teaching a topic on Africa in yr 5. I was unsure as to whether they would like the book as thought it may have been a bit young. However- many of the children enjoyed this book and used setting description in their writing. I found the children who originated from Africa especially enjoyed this book. The story is moving and although only short builds up suspence and the pictures really help the children visualise the setting.

It linked to our themed work on Africa. Recommended by a colleague. Great issues discussed through drama activities. Well worth the read!
