I am six feet tall and the seat post does not extend high enough for me. Consequently I look like a clown in a circus act when I ride it, much to the amusement of my work colleagues! This is not suitable for anyone taller than 5"6 which excludes most of the adult male population of this country, and a significant portion of the adult female population.
Recently the bike has started to creak horrendously when being ridden, from the hinge in the middle, and the crankset. It is only a matter of time before one of them gives up and disintegrates. I'm am not particularly heavy - about 13st.
The brakes are made from cheap components and the rear brake spring on one of the arms has broken. The front brake is not much better and minor adjustments to tighten them have rendered them almost useless due to the terrible quality of screws/bolts used. I would count myself as fairly competent with bike mechanics, and have not destroyed the components with a ham-fisted butchery.
The only decent component is the rear derailleur which so far has performed well. The handgrips twist off on daily basis and end up hanging off the handlebars. I have not been bothered to change them as I don't plan on keeping the bike much longer.
The bike is also ridiculously heavy. I am quite strong and fit but I would not want to carry this more than a couple of hundred metres. It weighs more than my full size mountain bike!
In short, this is a terrible bike and I am going to buy a Dahon or similar very soon to replace it. Don't waste your money on it!
