Anyway, not TOO much of a set back, as once you have this set up the way you like it, you won't be messing around with it much. You also won't need to power it down as the monitor just goes into stand by, which is good enough. For kicks, I turned the monitor off, and it took me a good five minutes just to turn it on again. Damn flimsy power button. Maybe it's just my unit, but still.
The monitor comes with all the cables you would expect, and also an HDMI cable. Big props to Viewsonic for that.
Picture quality is absolutely stellar. You'll forget about all other problems (such as the power button issue) as soon as you have it set up. The size is also perfect for me.
First Viewsonic product, and I am satisfied. For the price, very well worth it.
Secondly there was set up problems getting the monitor to turn on. I later found out it was a faulty hdmi cable that they supplied that was the problem. The stand is not that solid either and the monitor wobbles if the table moves!
And finally the touch screen buttons can take some getting used to, but other than that it produces a good image.

I love the monitor. It takes up very little space on my desk and it was easy to connect the V-shaped base. The monitor has two HDMI ports on the back and a VGA port. I ordered a new HDMI/DVI/VGA Sapphire HD5450 graphics card for my HP desktop and I connected the new ViewSonic monitor to the HDMI port on my HP desktop computer. I also have a 2-port VGA KVM switch that I connected my old 19" HP LCD monitor to. This allows me to connect two computers. My other computer is a Dell laptop with docking station. The second ViewSonic HDMI port is connected to the Dell laptop. The only issue I have is that I have not found a video resolution that makes use of the entire 24" screen but I think this is due to the fact that I am using two monitors, extended desktop setting and my HP is 19". It would be preferable to have to identical monitors but my HP is still working so I have no reason to replace it yet. I love that I can open Microsoft Excel and stretch a spreadsheet across both monitors or I can have Outlook open on one monitor and Excel or Internet Explorer open on the other.
Bottom line: I have two computers connected to two monitors that I can easily switch views (and control of a single mouse and keyboard) at the touch of a button on the 2-port KVM switch.
Able to use it next to both my and my wife's recliner chairs. Also expect to use it in front of our couch to watch videos. The VGA input provides high resolution 2nd display for my Dell laptop. The monitor plus music stand is very stable On-Stage SM7211 Professional Folding Orchestral Music Stand, Black, Was planning to trim away most of the music stand to reduce total weight, but decided to just cut a 2" x v4" hole in the stand to allow the VGA cable and power cord to pass thru the stand. While there were no instructions, it took less than 5 minutes to remove the stand which comes with the monitor.
