Before I could start enjoying this monitor, I did run into a pretty annoying hassle. Took it out of the box, and attached it to the stand. For those of you who are wondering, the stand isn't wobbly. Those people who have a wobbly stand haven't installed it properly, it's that simple. My problem was turning the unit ON. It came to the point where I had no display, but Windows had recognized the device and everything. The power on button (and other function buttons) on the actual black bezel are really flimsy. It took me around 10 minutes to get it to power on, by finding just the sweet spot. After it was turned on, I was able to use the other buttons. Some are extremely hard to press (they don't respond) and some are very easily.

Anyway, not TOO much of a set back, as once you have this set up the way you like it, you won't be messing around with it much. You also won't need to power it down as the monitor just goes into stand by, which is good enough. For kicks, I turned the monitor off, and it took me a good five minutes just to turn it on again. Damn flimsy power button. Maybe it's just my unit, but still.

The monitor comes with all the cables you would expect, and also an HDMI cable. Big props to Viewsonic for that.

Picture quality is absolutely stellar. You'll forget about all other problems (such as the power button issue) as soon as you have it set up. The size is also perfect for me.

First Viewsonic product, and I am satisfied. For the price, very well worth it.

Good price but there were a few problems. Firstly the tv was not double packed for delivery (just delivered in the original box) and had a few dents on the box prob happened in transit.
Secondly there was set up problems getting the monitor to turn on. I later found out it was a faulty hdmi cable that they supplied that was the problem. The stand is not that solid either and the monitor wobbles if the table moves!
And finally the touch screen buttons can take some getting used to, but other than that it produces a good image.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor for a Great Price 22 Sept. 2012

Monitor arrived quickly but had one pixel that was messed up. First I contacted manufacturer to return. They instructed me via email to press the tip of something like a permanent marker (not the marker itself but the other end) against the bad pixel. I used the eraser tip of my mechanical pencil. This did not fix the issue so I asked for a replacement. I received another email from View Sonic instructing me to get a replacement through Amazon since I was still within the 30 day period. So, I went through Amazon and the process was very smooth. I received the new replacement monitor on the same day the carrier picked up the old monitor. I did not have to pay any return shipping and the carrier provided a shipping label for the monitor being returned.

I love the monitor. It takes up very little space on my desk and it was easy to connect the V-shaped base. The monitor has two HDMI ports on the back and a VGA port. I ordered a new HDMI/DVI/VGA Sapphire HD5450 graphics card for my HP desktop and I connected the new ViewSonic monitor to the HDMI port on my HP desktop computer. I also have a 2-port VGA KVM switch that I connected my old 19" HP LCD monitor to. This allows me to connect two computers. My other computer is a Dell laptop with docking station. The second ViewSonic HDMI port is connected to the Dell laptop. The only issue I have is that I have not found a video resolution that makes use of the entire 24" screen but I think this is due to the fact that I am using two monitors, extended desktop setting and my HP is 19". It would be preferable to have to identical monitors but my HP is still working so I have no reason to replace it yet. I love that I can open Microsoft Excel and stretch a spreadsheet across both monitors or I can have Outlook open on one monitor and Excel or Internet Explorer open on the other.

Bottom line: I have two computers connected to two monitors that I can easily switch views (and control of a single mouse and keyboard) at the touch of a button on the 2-port KVM switch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Velcroed this great lightweight monitor to a music stand 13 Sept. 2012

This monitor is so light-weight that I used super-strength velcro to mount it to a music stand.
Able to use it next to both my and my wife's recliner chairs. Also expect to use it in front of our couch to watch videos. The VGA input provides high resolution 2nd display for my Dell laptop. The monitor plus music stand is very stable On-Stage SM7211 Professional Folding Orchestral Music Stand, Black, Was planning to trim away most of the music stand to reduce total weight, but decided to just cut a 2" x v4" hole in the stand to allow the VGA cable and power cord to pass thru the stand. While there were no instructions, it took less than 5 minutes to remove the stand which comes with the monitor.
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Monitor! 2 Dec. 2012

First off let me say that so far I've been very pleased with the quality and performance of this monitor has been nothing short of amazing. Viewsonic monitors have always been the best in quality for their price. This monitor is no exception. It provides excellent color, brightness, and contrast-all while being incredibly light and thin. With that said, sometimes the blacks aren't as deep as those on my iMac. This was a problem, but was quickly fixed when I calibrated the color settings on my computer. The monitor includes inputs for VGA and HDMI as well as a pass through audio input for splitting the sound off the HDMI connection. While a nice feature, the output is only stereo and did not fare well with my 5.1 speakers. Another note is that this monitor uses an external power brick, so for those with little cable management, that might be something to consider. Overall, this monitor has performed greatly through its paces and I am very pleased with the quality and build of this monitor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, who needs an Apple Thunderbolt Display!?! 27 Feb. 2013

I am sold-out, kool-aid drinking Mac fan-boy. I own several Macs, have for over a decade, and spare no expense on the best equipment for my work. I have a 15" Retina MBP and decided to grab one of these monitors to leave at my co-working desk all the time. Didn't want to invest a grand in a Thunberbolt display that could get knocked over or "borrowed" by someone else there. Man was I impressed with this ViewSonic. The color is a little cold and it's pretty iffy to adjust it but overall, the resolution, quality, and ease of set up is top-notch. And at this price, a fifth of the Mac monitor, you can't go wrong. Very very pleased.
1.0 out of 5 stars From bad to worse 29 Jun. 2013

Originally I bought 2 of them trying to setup as dual display. One of them did not work, Amazon said "it is out of stock and we don't know when it will come back" thus refuse to give me a replacement. I think it might have been discontinued due to the various problems, and when I returned it, Amazon charged a restock fee. Since I was late to discover it was dysfunctional, I decided not to argue about it. But that was not the end of the story. The monitor was too light, it shakes when you type. This monitor cannot work with other sturdier monitor stands so there is no solution there. I am stuck with it until I come up with a budget to replace it with something that actually works.
