Product Description

Klaus Schulze - the master of electronic music - will release with "La Vie Electronique Vol. 15" recordings from the years 1997 to 2000. With this edition the series 'La Vie Electronique" comes to an end for the present. On CD1 is the last of the 25 CD's in the Jubilee Edition set in 1997. Klaus recorded it during April 1997 in his studio. This long track is, as Klaus puts it: "...for playing along to. The listeners and fans can add their own melodies and sounds. Harmony is in C. They can play to it in c minor, g minor and f minor". CD2: The first two tracks (L'opera aperta & La tolleranza) are the second part and the encore of Klaus' solo concert in Bologna, Italy, on the 15th of December 1998 at the "Teatro delle Celebrazioni". The third track was especially recorded by Klaus for the Ultimate Edition box in late October 1999. CD3: These three tracks are a collaboration with an old friend, the cello player Wolfgang Tiepold. Most of the Schulze aficionados know (and love) Schulze's vintage albums with Wolfgang. He visited Klaus in his studio again in summer 1999, twenty years after the two did some good things in concerts and on some albums (mainly "X" on which Tiepold also conducted the small orchestra for the famous Ludwig track).

Yet another release in the LVE series, this covers early to mid-1990s Schulze, one of his most prolific phases and his return to form after a somewhat poor beginning to the decade. The highlight of this set is the 79-minute "'Nuff Said!", probably one of his most chilled songs.

The latest release containing precious gems of Mr. Schulze's deep creations: crisp, but surprisingly melodious, getting the thrills of passion for a different kind of music. Thanks KDM!

HASH(0x9b0fef0c) out of 5 stars A Gentler Excursion 19 Jun. 2014

This 15th volume in the series, which now runs to 45 CDs, mainly exhibits the calmer side of Schulze's work. The opening disc is a single track of almost 80 minutes' duration during which Schulze's leads meander nicely over a calming background that ebbs and flows. There is enough activity to engage the listener in a beautiful, soothing listening experience. The third disc comprises of three tracks, each of about 20 minutes, in which cello accompaniment adds to the keyboard leads. Both discs make fine late night listening or even good background for a late night road trip. Disc two has more variety in its approaches but still does not depart too much from the aural ambiance of the whole set.

I have all 15 volumes in this series so far as well as numerous solo outings by Klaus Schulze. As far as the "La Vie Electronique" releases go this is one of my favorites. There is much to enjoy here for lovers of electronic music.

This is the final volume in the La Vie Electronique series - These were originally unreleased material left over from Klaus' prolific output as an artist, all were later released as limited edition box sets that i failed to get when they were available before. So I was overjoyed when I learned that the material would be released again as bonus tracks on reissues of all Klaus' work and what didn't fit there, as 15, 3 CD volumes in the La Vie Electronique series. I now have the complete set. These are things that were too long to fit on vinyl in the old days, live concerts, alternate versions - wonderful if you are a fan of Klaus as I have been since day one. I recommend the entire series to dedicated fans - if you're new, Volumes 5 and 6 are good starters and this last one too, I'd say. Klaus as an artist has gone through many periods and his music changed to reflect those different times. The first volumes are mainly electric organ run through effects and as he discovered synthesizers, then samplers, the music incorporated these things and the results were amazing. From classical symphonic like sounds to mad operatics, rhythmic cruisers to duets with cellist Wolfgang Teipold and English vocalist Arthur Brown - he's definitely not for everyone but if you appreciate new, unusual and experimental music and you want to open yourself to something huge, try some of these… definitely in a class by himself - not pop music, jazz or any other genre - they have my highest recommendation.

HASH(0x9b102138) out of 5 stars a simply brillant composer up there as one of the greatest in his field. 10 July 2014

I have been following Klaus Schulze for a number of years now and in 1980 I brought his first live double album simply titled LIVE .I followed Rick Wakeman and Pink Floyd b4 and after those years and it wasn't until 2007 when I went into a import record shop in Sydney that I brought TIMEWIND . I slowly got his back cataglog since and this german electronic keyboard player is simply incrediable . certainly taught me a lot in electronic music. He is very good and improvising from samples to heavy sequencing and lead playing .LA vie electronic 15 is the last one in this series. In these series of 15 sets he plays for 79mins on nearly every CD that he brings out .So you get over 3 hours of thrilling electronic music .His keyboards are mini moogs ,andromedra A6 , and the famous Roland syth that Tony Banks played when he was with GENESIS. Klaus Schulze famous string syth is this model .The syth is now out of production La Vie 15 has sample playing with lots of great string layering and sequencing when needed. The 3rd CD has a series of chords that when you listen to them they are from A CRIME OF SUSPENSE that came out in 2000.I consider 4 ON the FLOOR as in is top 5 pieces of all his career. I was disappointed tHE piece had to come to an end .So when I heard the third CD of La vie electronic 15 I could nt believe it those beautiful chords were relived into a whole CD .i was captivated from start to finish .On his Mini Moog he uses the famous VCS syth that was famous on DARK SIDE OF THE MOON as a effects and sequecer .When you hear his mini moog on any of the La Vie Electronic sets and Live Albums you will hear delay and sound effects that he .plays. I consider also as recommendations to these sets the following Sets 6 ,7 and 10 as my favourite but all 15 sets of La Va Electronic are so good they will teach anybody who loves electronic music into how this gene of music is so important .Many of the greats eg Rick Wakeman .Pink Floyd .Tangerine Dream and others use moog s ,ARP Mellatrons and other keyboards and uses them to their advantage very well. I consider Klaus Schulze as up there with the greats as mentioned .He is so profilic with output of music that I think he may have over 250-300 cds to his name. I hope he gets to Australia one day as I would go anywhere to see him. I have so some respect for him as I think he would be a excellent teacher in universitys worldwide and any recording studio that I intend to sign for a electronic Music course in Sydney hopefully soon .He also has some DVD s that the one recently with Lisa Gerard who sings with his music fantastically. In my opinion Klaus Schulze is one great musician a amazing keyboard player up there with the best.
Also get TIMEWIND /KONTINUM/PICTURE MUSIC /BIG IN JAPAN recommendations but everything including La Vie Electronic
Thank You Amazon and Klaus Schulze

I've been a fan of Klaus Schulze for forty years. I recall one critic referring to his album Black dance as "the quintessential electronic music LP.". He was right. That was then, this is now. It is great to hear Wolfgang Tiepold accompany Klaus on the cello again. Clearly, they are both having fun. The songs on this album are wonderful, as always. Klaus Schulze has never disappointed me. I'm not exaggerating when I say he is a genius and the greatest practitioner of his art who has ever lived.
