All tools are precision made from 1st class stainless steel and are guaranteed by Victorinox.
Would prefer the the corkscrew to be replaced with the Philips screwdriver or even better if Victorinox could do a Pozidrive No.2
Other than that, a excellent every day tool.
Although not supplied with this model, I would add a mini screwdriver (for glasses) and a straight pin just to complete it off.
My 2nd favorite SAK (Swiss Army Knife) following the SwissChamp Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Champ (at around £45).
I got this particular model in the Camo (Camouflage) scales as I have not seen these in the shops before. Camo looks better in person rather than the stock picture.
I also have the standard Red scales, as an every day and practical tool.
Pretty much the perfect E.D.C. S.A.K. as it has fantastic can/bottle openers which double as screw drivers, the scissors are much better than you think, both blades are very sharp out of the box, and easy to keep sharp, the saw is top quality (you won't be cutting through a full size tree with it - well, perhaps you could, but it would take a while - but for cutting through branches for a fire pit, it's more than adequate).
Some say "but do I really need the cork-screw?" - it's surprising how many times I've saved the day with the cork-screw on one of my S.A.K.'s over the years, when at a party and the host cannot find his/hers for the wine. Oh, and it's good for untying knots too.
All round it's, for me anyway, probably the most perfect of the range, as it has all the main tools you need/want and none of the tools that you'll probably not really use.
Obviously a penknife has a different purpose from a locking hunting knife- you wouldn't want to be gralloching a deer with one of these, but for almost every other job you can think of, this little tool can- and will- frequently surprise you with its' capabilities!
I've only had my huntsman pocket knife for a week or so now, and have already stripped wires, opened wine, removed packaging, cut rope and cable ties, removed wasp stings (useful little tweezers are a nice addition in this model) cut fishing line (amazingly useful little scissors!) and countless other tasks that would normally have me rummaging in a drawer or tool box for a suitable tool.
Having this little red pen knife in your pocket or on your keyring is a massive time saver, and you'll be amazed just how many times you'll end up using it!
Victorinox have been making these tools for yonks, and there's a reason they're still going strong after all these years. The build quality is great and they're made to last, the steel is of a decent grade, hinges are solid and have a nice action to them, and they don't cost the earth to buy unlike a leatherman.
So unless you're planning on singlehandedly dismantling a tank or breaking into Fort Knox with nothing more than a pen knife then there's absolutely no need for a £100+ leatherman tool- a victorinox pocket knife will probably do the job just as well and won't break the bank to do it!
I also found this particular design & colour of scales very attractive & stand out. The tool itself has just about everything you could wish for on a pocket multi tool of this type. I actually like a dedicated philips driver on my SAKs & find its omission annoying though the small screw driver on the can opener is adequate.
Every tool is well constructed and designed and works as it should.
The can opener itself is one of the best of its types I have ever used & it whistles through a tin at speed.
the scissors are great, sharp & easy to use. The saw is sharp & excellent for cutting green wood.
I have to thin some trees out every year & have to climb amongst the branches to access what needs cutting.
I always use a SAK. The awl is an excellent design too. The main & smaller blade are both very sharp & a great shape to do actual cutting & slicing with. It has lived on my person since purchased & has been used multiple times for just about any job you can think off. I took it on holiday recently & it was invaluable, from making sandwiches to helping to take apart a child's scooter by using the smallest screwdriver/can opener to help undo a 4mm allen bolt.
If your looking to purchase one, make sure you consider what roles you actually want it fulfill, There are so many different designs that there is sure to be one that will fit the jobs you have in mind for it.
