5.0 out of 5 stars perfect pocket knife for this little lady 20 April 2017

My husband has a similar one. I had to get one as well, and this one has a cork screw! I don't know how many times I've tried that "shoe" trick to open a bottle of wine that you see on youtube, but it never works. With this, I'm prepared. The little knife you can use to cut the foil off the top, or I don't know, clean under your nails I suppose. The large knife is also great. I can't stand anything much smaller or it feels like I'm trying to cut open something with a toothpick. For some reason I have this stupid fear that I'll be stuck in my car after an accident or something and I'll need a good knife to cut through my seatbelt and escape. I feel like having this in my bag keeps me safe and worry free. I can even open it with one hand. whaaat. Also it opens boxes, tightens screws, saws tiny trees(?), and opens beer. What else would you need?

5.0 out of 5 stars Replacing one that I have misplaced 12 Feb. 2014

My heading almost says it all. I have several other knives but I misplaced this one and I feel near dysfunctional! OI ordered a new one so I am sure to find the original.I do a lot of handyman work, and spend a lot of time on ladders with a drill, or other tools. Once I got used to the opening with one hand feature I never wanted to go back. Also, I was skeptical, and maybe even intimidated, by the serrated edge and being able to keep it sharp. Well, all I can say is I keep my knives razor sharp and if you can sharpen a chain saw, then with a $8 pocket tool from Smith you can sharpen this knife and do it faster then a conventional blade. I like having a corkscrew, the saw often makes the difference on whether I have to get off of the ladder if I only need to trim something. Like others, I do miss having the tweezers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Victorinox Swiss Army Grip Series- One Hand Forester Knife 6 Aug. 2013

The genesis for me purchasing this knife was a recent 5 night backpacking trip to Lassen National Park in Northern California in which the designated cook had to open several cans of chicken. We had forgotten a can opener, but I had a small Leatherman Squirt with scissors. The Leatherman also had a small knife and we used that to open the cans of chicken, but it was awkward to say the least. I vowed that I would get a knife with a can opener when I got home.

There were several other features I wanted, including a serrated and locking main blade and a corkscrew. I like serrated blades because I feel that a serrated blade remains useful much longer than a normal blade without sharpening and sharpening is one skill that I have never mastered. And I simply will not by a folding knife without a locking blade. The other features of this knife were not required by me, but they will be useful in it's role as a camping and backpacking knife. I want to mention that the large flat screwdriver locks also

The knife arrived today and I must say that I am very happy with it. The quality is excellent and the main blade is so sharp that it shaves the hair off my arm. The plastic handles appear to be solid and all the tools and blades are centered perfectly when folded. The handle liner is stainless steel and the pivot points appear to be brass. As a size reference, it is about 1/4 inch longer than my Spyderco Delica 4, and of course it is heavier and thicker due to the tools.

Some people have mentioned that it is too big for a pocket knife, but personally this is not going to be an issue for me.

I should mention that the serrated main blade has no side to side play, but there is a slight amount of up and down play, also in the locking screwdriver. Not a deal breaker for this type of knife, but I wish it wasn't there. The Spyderco has absolutely no play in any direction.

I suppose a person could use this knife as a self defense weapon, although that is not it's main purpose. The tip of the main blade is blunt and not made for stabbing, although I would hate to be slashed by this thing, it could definitely do some damage used that way.

All of the tools are very easy to open except the reamer, which I simply cannot open with my thumbnail, maybe it will loosen up with use.

All in all, a knife with the features I want for backpacking and camping and excellent quality with a sharp blade. Definitely a winner for me!

Didn't realize this one came without the toothpick or the tweezers. I should blame myself for not looking carefully, but I kinda expect those in any Victorinox knife.

If I could give this 6 stars I would. This is your super tool! Victorinox has alway made great knives. This is not your bulky boy scout multi tool. It feels solid is comfortable in the hand and can be operated singlehandedly. Highly recommend you get two, one for your glovebox and one to sell to a friend when you save the day on the next camping trip.
