The Graphing and Live Data is a god send as it allowed me to see what sensor was at fault on the Suzuki when it started to play up (loss of RPM - Faulty Crank Position Sensor)
The only downside to this is the packaging says it should have a battery but it dint come with one. not really a issue as it works without it. only used for backing up the internal memory so you can print out the errors on the PC.
All in all a very good item for the home mechanic.
You would struggle to get a fault diagnosed and cleared by any garage for this cost, although clearing codes can only be advised if you are pretty sure that the fault is not going to cause danger while driving the vehicle and that any damage the fault may cause to your car is your own risk.
The device is of decent quality, you can tell it isn't premium, and there is a spelling mistake on the products box where it says "cpdes" rather than "codes", but that's why this is £28 not £128, just for reading and clearing faults it is worth it's money.
It would cost usually £30+ to get a diagnostic and a fault cleared at a garage, so even after one use I have saved, can't ask for much more.
I can't recommend this product over other diagnostic tools available as I haven't tried them, but I can say this one works (for me and my car) and is of good quality for the price.
The unit fired up when I plugged it into the car, but as the battery had no connection I couldn't store the results while I brought the unit indoors and connected to the computer to analyse them.
Also the thumbscrews didn't line up with the securing holes for the cable connector.
Although the item seemed to work fine I returned it due to the fact the software disc (which page 10 of manual says you get) was missing. The disc contains the DTC lookup software which I would deem essential to using the product.
Upon contacting the seller about the missing disc I was informed and I quote "The information on the Disc is the same as the user guide, and the CD always been damaged during transit, so the supplier stop provide CD in the package, but there wont be any problem with using this item"
However the disc is not the same as the user manual, it states in the manual
"CD -- Includes user's manual, DTC lookup software, and etc" and this lack of software posses quite a big problem with using the item in my opinion.
In fairness when due to this I requested to return the item for a full refund there was no problem what so ever they even refunded the cost of return postage.
If you tinker with vehicles and wish you knew what the dash light fault codes were then this is worth buying. You may need internet access to research some more once you receive the diagnosis but then the power is in your hands ;-)
Delivery was as promised, that's the only reason for 1 star rating, so thumbs up to Amazon on that one!
Qualati: The thumbscrews wont line up with the securing holes for the cable connector.
Missing parts:There wose no cd with software to link to and print on pc.
Lacking features: Cant update the unit and software, theres no site mensioned on the User's Manual and i cant find one on the internet
