About the Author

Gerhard Pöllauer, Jahrgang 1962, hat an der Universität Graz das Studium der Archäologie und Alten Geschichte absolviert. Sein Spezialgebiet ist die Matriarchatsforschung; seit über 20 Jahren sind die sagenumwobenen Amazonen zentrales Thema seiner Forschungstätigkeit. Umfangreiche Forschungsreisen sind wesentlicher Bestandteil seiner Recherchetätigkeit. Sie führten bisher in die legendäre Heimat der Amazonen am Fluss Thermodon in der Nordtürkei, auf die nordägäischen Inseln Lemnos, Lesbos und Samothrake, sowie nach Nordafrika. In seinem ersten Buch 'Die verlorene Geschichte der Amazonen' legt er seine Forschungsergebnisse über dieses wehrhafte Frauenvolk dar. Im neuesten Buch 'Geheimnisvolles Lemnos. Die von Frauen beherrschte Insel' enthüllt er die großartige prähistorische Vergangenheit dieser nordägäischen Insel. Er lebt in Klagenfurt, im Süden Österreichs.
