What else is there to say? Well firstly, I was able to install this fan myself. I installed the one that it replaced, which was a Vent Axia I bought about 5 years ago that itself replaced a no-name-brand fan that was excessively noisy. The old Vent Axia was noisy but effective. You could hear it throughout about half the house when it went on. This new silent fan you can only hear inside the bathroom. You can't even hear it when you stand outside the bathroom with the door shut. All of these fans have had easily understandable wiring that is clearly marked and described in the instructions. One slightly tricky thing was that on my old Vent Axia the three mains wires (marked L, LS and N) were in a different order, but fortunately senility hasn't set in to such a point where I'm unable to contend with a minor difference like this.
Finally, it's built to a reasonable standard. The plastic is very thin, but you never touch them when in use so I guess this doesn't make any difference.
I think the only way to achieve anything like silence would be to have a remote fan in the loft mounted away from the ceiling which is fed via large diameter ducting with very smooth surfaces and which runs at quite a low speed. Some hotels have this type of extraction (many don't!) This fan has none of the latter features though.

This really is a quiet fan which is why I bought it. It looks neat too. Not had chance to try it for long enough to be sure that it does extract moisture fast enough so holding... Read morePublished 7 days ago by Pip Ward
Obviously not silent, but much quieter than any other fan I've heard and it has decent flow rates.Published 3 months ago by Mr T
For quite an expensive fan the build quality wasn't great. When the fan is ceiling mounted the pcb falls out and so makes it difficult to install. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Com Ment
I've had 2 of these, bought from large national hardware shop. The fan itself works well when fitted to the ceiling, very quiet, near silent and certainly not audible from outside... Read morePublished 5 months ago by Robm88
Very silent on first setting but not very good extraction so changed it to the next setting which is still quieter than previous fans but had an issue with the timer not working on... Read morePublished 6 months ago by paulp
Not exactly 'silent' but the nearest thing I have come accross to a silent fan. The slight delay before it kicks-in after switching on caused a missed beat after first fitting it... Read morePublished 6 months ago by TomeRaider
A lovely quiet fan…I use it in the kitchen….I didn't want a cooker hood…this is ideal!Published 6 months ago by Beach Hut
"Silent" is pushing it a bit, but this is pretty quiet for the airflow (I have it in the higher speed setting so that may be a little unfair). Read morePublished 8 months ago by Sporky McGuffin
