A great debut album from Mystic Prophecy. Never heard this one before I now bought it on Amazon. But i have always liked the band and every album they have done. And this is just as good as any other Mystic Prophecy album. Great Powerful Metal...

First album from the German metal outfit Mystic Prophecy.
The sound and production is fairly raw, but this also gives it some appeal.
Crunching raw guitar riffs from Gus G (now with Firewind), but the songs are let down badly by the weak vocals from
R D Liapakis (still with the band!).
Even the great Gus G himself, lacks a little quality with his guitar solo's (obviously improved immensely since then).
They are all decent metal songs, particularly like "Welcome (In The Damned Circle)", but it is metal in a raw form and sadly, made less listenable, with the struggling vocals.

4.0 out of 5 stars Iced Earth-style heavy power metal featuring Gus G. - reissued 18 Mar. 2015
By Justin G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Originally released in 2001, Vengeance was the debut album from German power metal band Mystic Prophecy, which was formed by R.D. Liapakis and Martin Albrecht of Valley’s Eve. Early on, Mystic Prophecy also featured a little known guitarist named Gus G.

Mystic Prophecy has always been a heavier than normal power metal band, but on Vengeance that heaviness was combined with thrashing riffwork that was way beyond the power metal norm. Actually, between his riffs and Liapakis’s vocals, this album sounds like a lost Iced Earth release. You catch bits of old Sanctuary and Armored Saint as well, which is definitely not a bad thing. Gus G.’s guitar work steals the show throughout the album, but everyone really is in good form here.

It’s not your typical power metal album, and Mystic Prophecy really doesn’t sound quite like this anymore, but if you like your power metal on the heavy, speedy side, Vengeance is an album that will not disappoint. Fans of Iced Earth in particular will want to give this a spin.

Edition Notes: Metal Mind reissued Vengeance in 2009. The reissue comes in a digipack, has remastered audio (but no bonus tracks) and is limited to 2000 copies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Actually this would be 4 1/2 stars! 15 Sept. 2001
By Scot Heinze - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a must have cd for any fan of metal in general but especially for fans of Iced Earth. There are a lot of similarities in the vocals and the music. I don't know much about the band yet but if they continue with this style of music, they should make a name for themselves in the very near future.Do yourself a favor and buy this cd!
