I love a good horror story and Oh yes this is one heck of a gruesome story that gets straight into the action, no messing about, no long lead up, wham and you are gripped.

The protagonist carefully and thoughtfully works through how this was going to be done, but gives nothing away before hand so that I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation for the next 'act' and disclosure.

The unfolding of the all important background is very cleverly revealed in each scenario of terror, flicking back and forth slowly building a whole picture of injustice.

This book reminded me of the SAW films, that you couldn't bear to watch nor look away from. The scenes of violence are well described, if you like that sort of thing, and I do!

I enjoyed the way each captive character is gradually revealed, and do we have sympathy for them; absolutely not, we may even think they are getting their just deserts which is very important in this genre.

But Oh how I wanted the ending to be after the final vengeance had been carried out to see what Opio’s imagination could conjured up next.

I really liked this book and think that this author is definitely someone to watch out for in the future, because I believe his imagination is wonderful and look forward to reading his next book.

Many thanks to the author for a copy of this book for an honest review.

This book took me by surprise. I had read the blurb and had a totally different angle on it until I discovered that the author Leon Opio had one up better than I could ever imagine.

Its not a long book but it certainly has everything in it you could wish for when it comes to a thriller!

There are certain scenes in it that I have to warn you are a bit gruesome and graphic, but no more than you would see on a TV screen, however, some passages are not for the faint hearted if you have a vivid imagination like I have!

I just wish I didn't start this before I went to sleep. I was gripped from page to page until I realized it was 4am. But I finished it! Yeah I know what happened. I just couldn't go to bed wondering what and why, no way.

There are several captives, all with something in common, all in different rooms and tormented by the captive. Sure had me going.

This is highly recommended if you love a thriller such as this.

I would like to thank the author Leon Opio in allowing me to read and review his book, thoroughly enjoyed it

Wow... Just wow. In the first chapter we find a woman who has been chained in a dark, lonely room. Then we find the shadow of an abductor has collected a menagerie for his entertainment pleasure. What does the figure find entertaining? Torture. Revenge. No one is safe in this story. The ending was great-- leaving it open for a second book should the author choose to do so. This is a very descriptive, fast paced novel that I finished in two sittings. I would love to see what the future brings for the characters.

Strengths: This author's descriptive skills are excellent. At several points there are "cringe" scenes, and the characters are well developed. It is easy to picture the rich witch type of demanding woman who goes on shopping trips and orders people around as well as the other personality types. The frustration, fear, anger and other emotions of the characters are dramatically conveyed. I loved the ending. It definitely had a Saw or Hostel type of feel to it. Because of all of this, the story grips the reader in almost immediately and keeps them firmly within the author's grasp.

Weaknesses: This book needs a little more editing/proofreading as of today, 9/15/14. There are some typo's here and there, and it could be a little tighter. But do not let that distract you from the overall book. My own preference is a Third person/Past tense-- but that is MY opinion. This book is written in a Third Person/ Present Tense---even the flashbacks. Had the flashbacks been in a past tense, I might have enjoyed it even more. However, the present tense might have added to the intensity of frustration and connection... although I still would have liked the flashbacks to be past tense. For these reasons, I deducted 1 star.

That was one hell of a ride I just went on with this book. I started it and could not put it down, it kicks in quickly with the action and whirls you into the story. Not for the faint of heart this one, it's graphic, it's scary and it's darn good!

So what is the book about then?

Four people are being held captive in separate rooms. They each are responsible for the same crime and will endure their own private hell. While in these rooms they will re-live the acts that have brought them together. They will understand how it feels to scream for help and have no one come to their rescue.

Even though the bible states, "Forgive us the wrongs that we have done, as we forgive the wrongs others have done to us", the revenge seeking protagonist in this story is missing those pages. As the day goes by and the night sets in, these unwilling guests will endure extreme pain and fear. By the end of their journey, they will all fully understand meaning of 'Vengeance is Mine'.

My Review:

I loved the way this book took no time at all before kicking into top gear, there is no long winded build up to the action in this one. Immediately I was immersed in a dark atmospheric and chilling world alongside the victims and their captor. Scary.

The book introduces us to each of the four victims one by one, each help captive in their own room of hell and torment by a mysterious captor, none of them know why they are there, all of them are angry, all of them are helpless.
