When Lorena's ex mystically appears to her in the night of his death, she decides to travel to Venice, the place where they loved each other ten years ago. Lorena is sure that Guido wanted to tell her something as a farewell greeting -- even if theoretically, all was clear between them.
In Venice, she meets Guido's brother, Enzo, who welcomes her to the family. Within a short space of time, Lorena is deeply entangled in the complications, secrets, and emotions of the di Ventura family - all of which fascinate and confuse her. She particularly falls for Enzo, who's so very different from his brother. Finally, she decides to stay longer in the city of love and finds more answers than she had bargained for.

Venetian Tangle is an easy read, full of humor, set in beautiful Venice. I quickly immersed myself into this book and felt connected to Lorena. Even though it was easy to guess from early on that Enzo and Lorena would develop an interesting relationship, it didn't become clear how many obstacles they still had to clear -- at a place where emotions and the deeply rooted traditions of Italian families count a lot.

This romance is a must for everyone who loves romantic stories and has a weakness for Venice."

HASH(0x985f61a4) out of 5 stars The ghost of an old love - what could be more romantic 16 Aug. 2015
By Sandra Cody - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
The ghost of an old love - what could be more romantic? But Lorena doesn't believe in ghosts and an old love is ... well, the past is the past. Still, unbeliever though she is, she has a feeling this ghost has something to tell her. Besides, who could ignore the call of Venice at Christmas? Boeker takes these elements and weaves them into a story that is filled with surprises and good humor, a charming tale of finding love where it's least expected. The descriptions of Venice are perfect - just enough to evoke the magic of a beautiful city, not so much that it bogs down the story. The characters are unique, well-developed, and likable. You'll laugh at them and root for them. In short, you'll enjoy spending time with them.

HASH(0x972dc0e4) out of 5 stars Light, clean romantic fun in evocative Venice, Italy - An escapist's paradise 16 Aug. 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy of this book. I've read other romances by Beate Boeker, and I like her mix of light humor with sweet, clean romance, so I wasn't disappointed with this one. It has the light humor, the sweet romance, and on top of that it has beautiful, evocative Venice, Italy. The setting is used wonderfully in this quick, romantic, holiday fun read, as the backdrop for this escapist fiction. You don't have to wait for Christmas to enjoy it!

HASH(0x97cf8e70) out of 5 stars A Wonderful Christmas Experience 16 Aug. 2015
By Voracious Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is definitely a get-away-from-it-all must read. Boeker's writing is charming, the characters are both believable and loveable and Venice is lovely. Most Venetian stories take place in the summer, so it is especially refreshing to see this glorious city in full Christmastide array. I enjoyed this book tremendously and look forward to more from Miss Boeker. She is a most engaging, interesting and extremely readable author. You won't be disappointed in Venetian Tangle!

HASH(0x96e94510) out of 5 stars Too Wonderful to Miss! 19 Aug. 2015

Oh, what an adorable story! Lorena is happy with her life in Hamburg when, one night, she senses the presence of an old flame, Guido, around her. When she tries to contact him, she discovers he recently died and heads to Venice to learn if there was some kind of message he tried to convey to her at the time of his death. Her travels bring her Guido's brother, Enzo, now the manager of the family hotel, and she discovers Guido kept her photo on his desk, even though they'd broken up many years earlier. As she tries to figure out why Guido's ghost came to her, she falls in love all over again with the city where they met, and with the man she'd always heard was flighty and irresponsible. Filled with wonderful moments of humor and an ending that will leave your heart racing then melting, Venetian Tangle is a must-read, no matter what season!

HASH(0x970c4dec) out of 5 stars A Charming Story! 23 Aug. 2015
By Nic S. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Lorena gets a visit from her dead boyfriend, Guido, on the night he died and she decides to set out on a quest to figure out exactly what it was he wanted to communicate with her. Her quest leads her to Venice and Guido’s hotel where she gets more answers than she bargained for! Venetian Tangle is a charming story about unrequited love, letting go of the past, and having the courage to take chances in the future. It was an engaging read that was over WAY too fast, having me hooked until the very end. I loved the characters and the plot and highly recommend this book if you’re in the mood for a light, romantic read that’ll keep you engaged and entertained until the very end!

(I received a digital copy of in exchange for a fair and honest review. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)
