I don't think I can add much to what has already been said, a brilliant book that sits beside Stone Soup on my bookshelf, and is very real indeed.
Published in 1922 this is Margery Williams' most loved book, and is ideal for little children. A toy rabbit is hoping to become real, and another toy tells him that if he becomes loved and played with this will happen. Of course things aren't that straight forward, but in the case of the velveteen rabbit, something really magical does happen.
Your little ones should love this short tale, and even as an adult it should bring back some nostalgia.
