I bought this for when I don't have the space or weight allowance to carry a heavier tripod. It works great with lighter cameras, especially when used on its shortest setting and placed on a rock or other sturdy surface. The extended legs aren't great, and when there's a bit of wind around you can forget about using them entirely.
I mainly used this tripod with a Lumix LX3 camera, but I was really surprised to find out that it also supports a light DSLR. I frequently used the tripod with an Olympus E620 and 14-42 lens - it works well when you need it, which is usually only when desperate!
It would get a 5 if the extended legs were sturdier.
