The other barely documented 'feature' that I think is very bad is it switching itself off after a time - this has been noted by some other reviewers so it doesn't seem to be an issue with just my camera. The manual seems to say the camera does this as it's not being used, but how can it know this? The documentation doesn't state an answer to that. How can the user disable that 'feature'? Again, no answers in the documentation. The reason I want to disable it is because the camera decided by itself to turn off several times while I was recording with it. I think that's really bad as what if it decides to turn off at a crucial moment, such as a car pulling out in front of me leaving me without footage of the event? And why would it do that anyways as I was cycling along, i.e. I was using it!? The camera just seems to decide totally for itself that it's not being used and switches off - NOTE: I double checked each time this happened and there were ample amounts of battery life and recording space, so those were not factors.
Sorry to leave such a bad review, but I feel let down, though for the price, maybe I expected too much...
Records sound and video.
I use when our horse riding. I charge between rides however with my car having a USB charge point (also available through cig lighter) I can charge in the car if needs be.
Came with handy clip.
Very impressed with the video quality
I subsequently ordered a PLUS version for forward facing use, and will use the other for rear facing views.
It was very difficult to adjust the date/timestamp on the PLUS version. The Veho website recommends some software which doesn't seem user friendly. Some forums offered alternative solution. But then I spotted a firmware etc update on the Veho website, and found that it contained a utility titled "Set Time" which did exactly what I wanted.
The 4G memory card is enough for three or four short journeys, but I replaced it with an 8G one, which allows for longer recordings within the battery capacity.
The push button on the top is too often unresponsive and needs several attempts to switch from recording to save and vice versa.
I wear it on a head mount, so it records my head movements as I look back during manouevres.
