It took a couple of goes to get this game. The timed races are almost secondary to the aim of the game - to buy and sell smuggled goods at the best prices to make as much of a profit as possible.
The races are easy enough to master, however, there is too much randomness involved in the prices. You can go through a whole game never getting the opportunity to sell or buy at the right price - therefore, not something you can ever master no matter how much you play it.
It would have got the full 5 stars if there has been more of an element of skill involved in the buying and selling of smuggled goods!
How these guys make such great games with incredible graphics with only about 50mbps download I don't know. Anyways, drive your rickety boat through HI-res swamps and rivers in Southern Texas, avoiding cops and alligators, fully destructible environments, ducks and other drivers...buy goods from snake oil to Moonshine, and try and sell for more dollars at the next stop (like ELITE game from 1980s).
Some have said the gameplay is too simple but this is a fun game to relax to, especially on kindle fire HD where you can turn graphics up to highest setting, and they are BEAUTIFUL- perfectly rendered water, fireflies and harvest moon at night, blazing Sun during day with lots of rickety shacks in sharp, colourful graphic detail.
The whole game is reminiscent of the James Bond movie set in Southern America, complete with drawling sheriff and ducks and chickens.
Really wonderful game with hours and hours of potential play.
I'd really give three and a half stars if I could. The graphics are great, and the basic idea is good. Two faults stop it getting five stars. These are (1), steering the boat is a fairly uncontrolled, random affair, and (2), the buying and selling part at each stop is a little basic, and doesn't really add to the game as much as it should. Otherwise, it's a great little timewaster.
I download this game for my two youngest grandchildren who are 6 and 8 years of age , they take turns in playing and they really enjoy it ,the graphic's look good ,and the game controls are not complicated, but above all it keeps them quite, which is a big, big bonus
