Does not fit the Air range

I have two Air upright VAX cleaners, purchased from Amazon - Vax U90-MA-R Air Reach Multicyclonic Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Whilst they are an excellent buy, getting extra tools is proving very difficult.

I found this kit in Sainsburys, got it home and discovered only the flat upholstery tool fits the AIR's smaller size of tube. My guess is that this kit will fit some VAX cleaners, but as the supplied adapter is of no use, the entire kit will be returned.

I've found the VAX website is useless at selecting suitable items, so I'm trying my luck elsewhere...

Hope this helps others with any of the new AIR range of cleaners not to make the same mistake.

Update: I just want to give a big thumbs up for the Radford Vac Centre. I rang them on 01623 629788 - mon ~ fri 9am - 5.30pm sat 9am - 5pm] - what a difference that makes!

I spoke to a lovely chap named Mark, who wasn't able to find an adapter in his shop - it seems such converters are almost obsolete - but he did take the time to ferret out and test a 32 to 35 mm adapter which was just what I needed. Full marks for old fashioned customer service. Much appreciated, Mark !

Does Not Fit All Vax Vacuums as it says.

Bought both my Vacuum & tools at the same time from Vax you would think thay could have informed me that its no use for the Vax Air Revolve, neither the tools or the connectors fit, yet says its designed to fit all Vax Vacuum cleaners.

Delivery was prompt cant fault that, but sadly this kit does not fit a mach air upright. I had been on the official vax website and it does say it fits sadly it does not and I had to return it. oh well thats the hoovering of dust put off for a few more days then! my fault for not reading the amazon reviews. you actually need the 3 in 1 tool.

A Fantastic Cleaning Tool Kit For Making More Use Of Your Vacuum Cleaner!

When I saw this product online at the Vax website, I was keen to know more but then discovered that the product disappeared. When I saw it advertised on Amazon UK, it looked a bit more tempting. Generally whilst I may well admit to owning a SEBO vacuum cleaner (or many) I do require extra cleaning tools in my life that can be used with other machines such as Miele, Bosch and Numatic's Henry. No, I am not a cleaner by trade, but rather just someone who needs to clean up after pets and relatives all the time.

The Vax Genuine Pro Cleaning Kit (Type 1) is a great piece of kit that actually has a lot of use. However, if you have a vacuum cleaner in general that has an independent hose and handle, this kit can be used on the basis that it does come with an adaptor for 35mm sizing INCLUDING my SEBO vacuum that doesn't normally fit other gadgets of this type. On my old Vax Mach Air, this tool kit is a fantastic bonus all in itself and the following tools are supplied in a thick cardboard tray with a separate storage bag, of which I've slipped the tray inside to keep all the tools together without falling out.

Tool Types & Their Uses

"Up Top Tool" - Basically a snap onto the crevice tool dusting brush that can be pivoted and locked in 3 positions for cleaning ceiling fans, or getting the dust off the top of cupboards. Also great for lampshades. The brushes are soft and really easy to clean with. However the neck of this tool isn't as well made as the other tools, able to scratch easily but it does offer a further locked 3 position angle adjuster.

"Extension Tube" - Also acts like a long crevice tool with a telescopic height adjustable section at the top and where the first "up top tool" can be slid onto. It has a 35mm sizing opening. When compacted it offers 30cm length and when the height adjustable inner crevice tool is unlocked, the highest measurement totals approximately 47cm in length, great for getting into corners without having to use heavier suction tubes. All the plastic is lightweight, so it is effortless to lift compared to vacuums that have metal suction tubes.

"Soft Dusting Brush" - Very similar to the Up Top Tool but of fixed position - if you need a proper dusting brush, here's one and then some because it has 2 pivot settings, at an angle and suitable for flat cleaning! The soft bristles pick up the dirt effortlessly. Also better than the dust brush that comes with the Vax Mach Air as standard. Has a 35mm sizing ideal for Bosch or Miele without the connector required here.

"Flat Upholstery Tool" - A mattress cleaning tool - great for getting under car seats as well as cleaning mattresses in general. What a pity though the it doesn't accept Bosch or Miele even with the tool connector supplied. Seems to be an odd tool out of all the other ones that can fit other brands and there are no holes in this tool other than the front suction channels, making it tough to use on a mattress unless you loosen the power of your vacuum or adjust the air bleed valve at the top of your vacuum's handle, if you have a cylinder vac.

"Connector" - a 30mm to 32mm tool fitting is included for almost all brands of vacuum cleaner, though obviously if you don't have a hose with your vacuum cleaner, this tool kit won't be of any worth.

"Storage Bag" - A black netted bag with hanger is already supplied. It can hold all the tools in the bag WITH or without the thick cardboard tray inserted that holds all these tools in. A pull string toggle with push lock has also been fitted.

Generally all of these tools can be used with SEBO's X uprights, Hoover uprights & cylinder vacs, Numatic, Electrolux, Vax (of course), some supermarket exclusive vacuums and Dyson models though it is always best to check the size of the hose or the handle for the best fitment. For the price, it's a good deal but the storage bag could be a bit better made whilst all the tools should have the same size fittings. Thanks for reading (c)NR2 2013.

UPDATE November 2014

It seems a few buyers from here have had problems of these tools fitting their Vax machine. My original tools can still be used with my Vax vacuum but it may be that Vax have updated the kit. Obviously not for the better.
