What material are vases made from?
Surprisingly, vases are made from a wide range of materials. Many of the vases that are available to buy today are made using the same materials as they have been made from throughout history. The most popular materials used for vases, especially as a vase for flowers, is usually ceramic or glass. But it has not been unknown for vases to also be made from non-rusting metals like bronze, brass, aluminium and even stainless steel. Some vases are even made from a special kind of wood that does not rot and is resistant to water, or they’ve been given a coating to make sure they do not degrade. These materials give the vases a different feel and allow them to be decorated in many different styles. In fact, the type of material that the vase is constructed from can have a bearing on what type of flowers look good in it. For example, large bunches of flowers would look good in big glass vases whereas a single rose may look good in a tall slim, metal vase for an edgy and modern look.
