Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
As an enthusiastic motorcycle camper with experience pitching a variety of tents, I like models which are light and small, keeping compromise to a minimum. The Vango Talas 300 fits the bill perfectly.

Pitching the Talas is a doddle with the two pole structure making Vango's seven minute pitching time (quoted on the product packaging) easily achievable. On my first attempt, the tent was erect and ready to use within five minutes. To make this even faster it would be possible to leave the inner and outer tent attached. This is a distinct advantage because it prevents the inner tent from getting wet when pitching during rain showers (as the outer protects the inner from rain) and reduces the effect of wind. Attach them separately, and the outer is a massive windbreak, making it ridiculously difficult to attach on windy days singlehanded.

Once pitched there is easily enough room for two people and gear. With my camp bed, sleeping mat and sleeping bag installed, there was more than enough space for gear that needs to stay dry, alongside inner tent pockets for valuables. Outside the sleeping area, there is ample room for items that can withstand a little damp, housing my boxed stove, camping stool and motorcycle top box with relative comfort. Three people could use this tent, however it would certainly be a squeeze, and there would be little room in the sleeping compartment for gear. As a general rule, a three person tent is ideal for two people, and a two person for one etc.

A bonus of this tent is provided by the lime green colour, which allows for light to easily penetrate the inner and outer layers, illuminating the inside during daytime hours. Much better than my 17 year old Vango Equinox 350, which was dark even on the sunniest of days!

Not had any problem with this tent after a few months of weekendly use. I've had 3 people with a weekend's gear in here and it a cosy, but that is to be expected with any 3 man. No problem with the waterproofing, it survived a deluge one night and both me and myself woke up dry and warm.

Only used once so far but seems good. Because the poles go front and rear rather than cross over the top it makes it more difficult to put up on your own. Also seems like it will be less stable in windy conditions even with all guide lines and doesn't sit right unless you are on perfectly level ground. Good for a weekend away on a camp site, decent materials with a good level of waterproofing.

Bought this for a festival and was very pleased with its performance. Easy to put up (doable for one person, quicker with two), perfectly waterproof (although we did only have a few hours of light rain, can't comment on how it would hold up in a torrential rainstorm), good size for two people and light luggage (would be a tight squeeze for three). Great tent for the price!

Brilliant tent. Well made with a real quality feel. All fits nicely in the suppplied bag with no trouble. Would be a squeeze to fit 3 people in. However, is just the right size for me and my 7 year old daughter for camping trips away. The green colour makes it feel light in the tent at night, with is good. Not so good first thing in the morning. :-)

Putting up the tent couldn't be easier. Light to carry from the car, simple to erect, comfortable for one large adult, two smaller, three would be a squash unless children.

Post Party it was ideal to crash into, tested on the cliff top at Porthleven last weekend for the Masked Ball. Survived intact ready for another day, another do!

Nice and light, compacts into a small shape. Waterproof and not too loud in the wind (so far). Good ventilation.

Two fairly large people slept in the tent, and I think it could sleep three (albeit very, very cosy).

Very easy to put up - however buy sharpened tent pegs! The ones that come with the tent are perfectly adequate, however they don't compare to the sharpened pegs.

Great tent design keeps dry in torrential rain even. Only issue is very poor ventilation.
