Downsides, non really. The two pieces of string to tie the tent together when rolled up seem a bit mean. For this price, webbing straps and clips would have been nice.
The next day, we went to Norfolk and put it up.
All you have to do is put the groundsheet down first and then lay the tent on top. then peg down the 4 corners and blow it up with the pump. I had to stand in the middle to help it up. The instructions attached to the tent were good. We then secured the tent with its guidelines, which took a few minutes and then pegged the rest of it.
We slept very happily in it. There was lots of room for my husband who is 6'4" and he stood up happily in it....love it. It has 2 side doors with an inner mesh for the doors to let the cool breeze flow thorough and a large window. Our dog Polly slept in it too. Because we were camping on a farm in their orchard, we laid two mats in the tent which worked wonders.
When it came to going home, we couldn't find the instructions! I then remembered they were sown into the tent bag. After untying the guidelines, we then released the valves and down it quickly came. we then went and got a cup of coffee to allow any residual air to make its way out of the tent. When we returned, we folded the tent easily up and sat on it to squeeze out the remaining air and put it into its bag.
The reason for getting this tent was that we had seen it at the Ideal Home Exhibition show in London and that this was a tent which the military used if they wanted to set up camp quickly.
we will be using this tent again because it is so easy to put up and take down. We are going to sell our old tent!
