Product description
Product Description
With more than twice the processing power of previous generation AMD discrete graphics cards, ATI Radeon HD 7800 Series graphics cards deliver a cinematic gaming experience and unprecedented performance. The VTX3D HD7870 Black extends the benefits of VTX3D HD7870 series which takes advantage of progressive GPU design, and shows extraordinary performance than before.
The new model consists of ground-breaking feature which runs at a clock of 925MHz, and 6.0 Gbps for memory, even allowing higher frame rates in games by using AMD PowerTune with boost which overdrives core frequency to dynamically overclock up to 975MHz. Also, VTX3D HD7870 Black features 92mm ultra large fan and 3 heat pipes design, which can significantly reduce heats and keep the temperature low.<P>having debuted on Windows 8, the VTX3D HD7870 Black is completely UEFI-ready which can support the latest Windos 8 Fast Boot function, and offering the most improved user experience. With AMD PowerTune technology support can maximize TDP constrained performance by enabling higher GPU clock speeds and minimize power during light workload by reducing in voltages, engine and memory clock speeds. Enhancements for AMD Eyefinity technology include multi-display stereoscopic 3D support and 16k x 16k group resolution, gamers can get the most intense gaming performance than before.

Bargin!
clock speeds 1000/1500.
It uses two PCI-E connectors so make sure your 500w+ PSU as them.
This uses the Tahiti chip, (used in the 7900 series) and was originally going to be called the HD7930. However they confusingly decided to call it HD7870 Tahiti LE - but it is better than the Pitcairn chip used in the standard HD7870s which are at a similar price.
The card runs hot. Under full load at 50% fan speed I'm over 80C. I upgraded my case fans too three cooler master fans blowing in and one exhaust at the back which helped. You can increase the fan speed on the card which makes a significant decrease of -5C/10C but its very loud.
The ATI drivers for this have been great too.
i run two of these in crossfire and can easy max crysis 3 (35-55fps),the top card gets a little hot but for 400€(for 2) this can not be beaten
easy to overclock so you get the same proformance as a 7950 boost card
CONS fans can produce lot of noise ,only really a worry if you crossfire then i rec to get a two fan cooler for top card as it runs up to 10c hotter
I was not prepared for what comed out when i opened the box...a real beast!
1200mhz with stock voltage (1.22), 10k graphics score at 3D11.
This was supposed to be a replacement for my Asus 7970 DCII while 290x dont drop prices, but i am so amazed that probably, i will hold it until other gen.
Superb value, quiet (yes...not whisper quiet, but very quiet even at 100% fan speed), not very hot (i wont go above 65-66ºcore / 59/60º vrm while gaming with 1200mhz fan 100%).
Grab it while you can!
VTX3D, i admire you!
Playing games with high quality settings & high fps is much, much better, than the alternative!
