I've found this incredibly useful, especially for tidying electric cables when they're not in use. Simply wind up the cable, wrap enough round to give a firm overlap, then cut. As it's only narrow, it's easy to undo when needed, and is suitable for fine cables such as mp3 player earphones to larger mains cables. As it's cut to length, there's no waste, nor is there a huge bulk of fastener to make it impractical or unsightly. If you've got a drawer or cupboard with lots of things with cables thrown into it (e.g. phone chargers, hairdryers, headphones) and find that it's like unravelling spaghetti when you want to use something, then this is definitely something that will cure the problem. Better than elastic bands (that perish and break) or cable twists (the wire often works it's way out of the end of the twist to pierce fingers, etc) or string (how many times does that supposedly easy-to-undo knot just become permanent so you have to just cut the string?). I thought I'd need more than one roll after I'd been round everything in the house, but I've been pleasantly surprised at just how far it's gone, however, if I do run out, I'll definitely be buying more of the same.
I love this stuff. its a double sided velcro product, one side is hooks while the other side is loops. Simply its a non-sticky reusable tape, you can cut to the desired length. I've used it mainly for sorting out cables. My new TV stand looks neat, my Aquarium has hidden cabling (with a few choice plants), headphones are now tangle free when not being used, the dogs lead, laptops chargers, mobile phone chargers etc. etc. etc.
OK, so its mainly cables you'll use this for, but you get the idea.
In short its great to keep unruly cables in check highly reusable, and the fact that you can cut to length means this is a highly cost effective solution to cable management.
Have used this for many things so far and I'm highly impressed. One usage we had was to keep our new kitten from opening up the budgies cage, so we used these as an easy to use locking mechanism. Second usage was for some small secure curtain tiebacks, nothing fancy but kept them in place perfectly. Thirdly we used them to keep cables tidy, as was intended. Fantastic product, will buy again.
Perfect for bundling cables. I've tried many things over the years - cardboard tubes (take up space), elastic bands (get old and snap, leaving residue), cable ties (have to cut them off each time) - but this is definitely the best. Just don't be stingy when cutting, otherwise it'll be a pain to secure each time.
On ones I use a lot (chargers etc) I attach one end to the cable to stop it getting lost - loose enough so it can still move up and down, but tight enough that it won't slide past the plug. You can just roll it on itself a few times and be careful not to unroll it too far each time, but I like to loop the end around the cable, plastic side against itself, leaving a teardrop-shaped hole, then sew/superglue it together.
This is really useful. I bought it to tidy up various electrical cables that I previously tidied using rubber bands. This velcro is really strong - you just cut it to length for the specific cable you're looking to tidy. If it's a heavy cable then use the velcro as it is - the longer the length of velco the stronger the grip.
When I've been tidying small light weight cables I've cut the velco lengthways. Not only does this make the velcro go further but the smaller width looks much neater when put round thin lightweight cables.
Until I bought this I didn't realise how many electric cables I had around the house.
Overall, an excellent product that I am happy to recommend to anybody who wants neat cables.
I have used this so much since we bought the roll. Whether tidying cables behind the TV or making power cable clips for all of the garden equipment this is so useful. Well worth the money would definitely recommend.
As others have commented this stuff has manyuses apart from the intended cable tidy thing, so something akin to cable ties or gaffer tape in that respect. Attaching dog racing muzzles to the dog collar, that's one, and as a tree stake tie, that's another. I'm not 100% sure it's going to be rainproof in the long run, but it still seems fine after 6 months or so.
Tried many products to tidy up wires from plug adapters in drawers. Most too bulky or too awkward & struggle to fit round some wires as ties are usually one size. This product is the best! Cut off only size required to tie up wires. Quick & easy to fix round, with really strong hold. Back of tv so neat now. No more scuffy tangled wires in drawers from adapters. Useful to keep wires up out of way from small children. Remove and reuse as many times as wish.Recommend to anyone. Great seller too! Really fast delivery.
