This is a good introcuduction to using computers in the study of history. However, it is a little dated in terms of software cited. Unfortunately this is inevitable in a book such as this when computer software is updated and new programs become available. Having said that I did enjoy the book and it did ive a useful introduciton to the topic. The section on databases I found useful. Although the section on presenting information was less so - as people are becoming increasingly familiar with presentation software. One area I did find lacking was it was entirely focused on one company's products. The company in question may have a large share of the market but there are other products available that perform similar functions, either for sale or as open source. It might have been beneficial for the authors to have least highlighted these other options, perhaps at the end of the relavant setions or as an appendix.
