Review

"Homes Worth Aspiring To. "The""Urban House "is""a sensory splash of 25 pristine dwellings in cities around the world." -"The New York Times
""Call it windy, sinful, or sleepless, but in the end, a city is defined by its inhabitants and the architecture they create. Ron Broadhurst explores this symbiotic relationship in "The Urban House, " a gorgeous new volume that examines the ideas and influences behind 25 innovative metropolitan dwellings."" -Architectural Digest
""Each page seems more dreamy than the last... opens the doors to twenty five of those escapes, inviting the reader into private residences that many (or more aptly, most) can only dream of... belongs in the library of any city dweller- no matter the jealousy it may ignite."" -Rue Magazine
""City living can be chaotic, crowded and stressful, which is why these 25 homes are so appealing. They illustrate how excellent design can offer an oasis of calm and serenity in the urban jungle." "-Belle"
"Must-have interior design book"" -212 Concept
"

This book is very well scripted and with lots of photos. There are small detailed floor plans for every floor including ground level garden and patios, etc. for each property.

HASH(0x940e9930) out of 5 stars Beautiful book! 17 Sept. 2014
By William C. Powell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Very well done book about urban living and design! The pictures are amazing and the discussion about how they were designed are inspiring. I didn't give it a 5 star rating because most of these beautiful places are probably out of the price range of most people. So it's not for those that cannot afford the ingenuity and the financial wherewithal, but it is a fantastic source of inspiration!
HASH(0x940e9834) out of 5 stars Photo reproduction could have been better 11 Jun. 2016
By Michael Chase - Published on Amazon.com

A fine book of interesting projects by well-known and respected architects, including John Pawson, one of my favorite architects.
That said, I gave it only three stars because I found the reproduction of the photos disappointing.
