HASH(0x9a5c8318) out of 5 stars Not to be cruel... 26 July 2014
By All my friends are writers - Published on Amazon.com

Not to be cruel but the following make this NOT a good read for the following reasons:

1. Poor sentence structure.
2. Redundancy.
3. Insult to individuals who have a basic knowledge of living off the land.
4 Gives a true novice zero instructions for the successful engagement of living off the grid.
5. Junior high English instructors would pull their hair out thinking all teaching points had gone un-noticed.
6. High school vocational agricultural teachers would read this "report" and readily recognize the author had little to no experience getting "dirt under their fingernails" but had taken information from perusing journals; "Capper's Weekly" would provide more useable information.

HASH(0x9a4535c4) out of 5 stars Urban Homesteading, By Dan Hudson 7 Sept. 2014

This book is full of good advice. He discusses special needs, and zoning, which a lot of people forget about, until they get into trouble. He talks about caring for the animals you choose to raise, and the food you want to grow. I find he covers quite a bit that some others do not. If you are thinking of doing this, I would read this book for some straight forward advice.

HASH(0x9a749288) out of 5 stars This land is your land, this land is my land 28 July 2014
By Pamela Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
I spent a decade living in Oregon in the 70's and I was totally into living off the land. I loved having my garden literally steps away from my little cottage where I lived with my boyfriend and my cats. How on Earth did I end up back in Southern California? But I do intend to spend my retirement in a less urban environment and Dan Hudson's book really inspired me to do it sooner than later.

HASH(0x9a489da4) out of 5 stars Off The Grid 3 Aug. 2014

Going off the grid is a fantasy I've had for a while now. I have always been fascinated with the Amish lifestyle but felt their structure was slightly not what I was looking for. This book provided me with some awesome techniques and ideas to get my urban homesteading lifestyle in full swing. Great read and was enjoyable throughout!
