Urantia Foundation is a non-profit religious educational organization, established in 1950 as the custodian of the text of The Urantia Book. Urantia Foundation has printed The Urantia Book in English since 1955. In recent years we have translated the book into many other languages, with more on the way.
The beautiful building which is the home of Urantia Foundation, 533 W Diversey Parkway, Chicago, Illinois, was built in 1908. It contains of offices, a basement for storage and shipping operations, and rooms for meetings and study groups, plus bedrooms for guests.

First published in Chicago in 1955, The Urantia Book is the fifth epochal revelation on our planet and a spiritual feast for hungry souls. The Urantia Book provides answers in depth and with the highest universal authority. It is the first epochal revelation on this planet since Jesus of Nazareth who, in his person, was the fourth epochal revelation since our planet's birth. "Urantia" is the official name given this planet in the universe of Nebadon, and on the records of creation. It is number 606, one of the youngest and least advanced among 619 inhabited worlds in our system.

The first two thirds of The Urantia Book describe the immeasurable panoply of the cosmos, within which our vast local universe is but a tiny peripheral unit of only 10 million inhabitable planets among a total of 7 trillion. And yet, among the celestial hierarchy, our backward and presently quarantined little Urantia is the distinguished sentimental favourite among the 10 million. For Michael of Nebadon, a Paradise Creator Son of God, creator of this universe, in self bestowal was born on our planet as a normal human baby. Here he lived a man/God life as Jesus of Nazareth. The last third of the 2097 pages is the detailed narrative of his entire life, year by year, without embroidery or omission and with all his supernal instruction.

Jesus' sojourn on our planet was not only a revelation of God to man, but also revealed to God the perfection to which we can attain. His life was lived here not just for our edification, but for the creatures of millions of worlds in our universe, more advanced than us, who could follow on "space reports" to see how the Creator of their universe submitted himself to the machinations of human beings and the struggles of mortal life.

The authors of the papers are angelic beings, celestial revelators, which might seem incredible. But if we mortals on this lowly planet are intelligent enough to film and record important events and lives, no doubt our unseen celestial friends have for millions of years been recording - with invisible techniques - every vital minute of every Creator Son's bestowals throughout creation. And these records are made available whenever a major up-stepping of spiritual comprehension is necessary to save or improve civilisation, like now. Also explained is why we are officially cut off from universe communication. And we will remain isolated for an unknown period.

The searching spirit-conscious person, together with those ecclesiastics who never abandoned the living God or the robust living Christ, will find The Urantia Book a sustaining soul feast. It emphasises Jesus' life, not his death - the Master who lived a bold and perfect life and taught the Truth; who was shamefully put to death and rose to resume his universe responsibilities as though he had never committed himself to the capricious wills of men. There is no end to the stimulating thoughts and provocative wisdom in this divine revelation.

The Urantia Book

Part One gives a description of God the Universal Father; his nature and relationship to each individual with a better understanding of the spiritual and physical organisation of all creation.

Part Two focuses on our area of creation: our guardian angels and many celestial helpers; life after death; the Lucifer rebellion... and reveals why our troubled world is currently quarantined.

Part Three is a history of our planet from a spiritual perspective: the evolution of civilisation, government, religion, marriage and family life. Revelations of Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden and Melchizedek further complete our historical knowledge. The divine presence within each individual is significantly detailed in another major revelation.

Part Four lifts Jesus out of the context of the Christian religion and portrays his life and teachings in a way that is inspiring to people of all faiths and walks of life, with no “missing years.” The celestial historians give a richly detailed and profoundly moving account of Jesus’ life in chronological order from birth through childhood; his school years and adolescence; his adult years including his personal and public ministry work; his death and resurrection; events shaped by his followers... and concludes with “The Faith of Jesus.”

What are we as a species? why are we here? are questions you have before reading this book.

What am I capable of achieving in this short life that will benefit mankind?
How do I align myself so as to be a part of The Universal plan?
How do I make the most of using this life to prepare my soul for life beyond this life in the flesh? are questions you have when you are only half-way through it.

This book is awesome in its scope and the level and depth of each subject that it covers answers questions that you may have and shows you the support that is open to those humans who have faith in the divine.

Whatever you think you know about this planet and its history I would suggest you prepare to be enlightened by the contents of this book.

This book is a MUST read and a life-time companion. It gives so much detail of why, when and how things are. After reading the Urantia Book for a number of years now (this is my second copy) I'd rate The Bible as one star or less and The Urantia Book as 5+ stars. If it is TRUTH you are looking for - read this book. It is also FREE on the Internet.

4 stars instead of 5 because the language construction is very dense for 2/3rds of it and requires careful reading. Such learned authors should have exercised greater consideration for their readers and used easier, uncontroversial, language.

Urantia has been channeled to we-know-not-who-they-won't-say by sixth-sphere (this is not mentioned in the book) spirits. (There are currently thirty-six levels and the celestial heavens start at level eight. (Again not mentioned in the book. (They possibly don't know))). (Spirits don't know everything!).

Many novel words are not defined and their meaning has to be inferred from their context. This allows for doubt and consequent argument.

The life of Jesus is good, (remembering that spirits do not know everything and that channeling has the same reliability as dictation to a person with their own agenda), and correctly says that his mother was not a virgin, that he is not God, that he is not the son of God in the sense that that term is used by contemporary religions but is a son of God in that we are all sons/daughters of God with a divine mission however humble and mundane that may appear to us, His crucifixion does not save us but has ensured that we pay attention to his teachings even though they have been, and still are, extensively reported incorrectly, emphasizing the irrelevant, misinterpreting the true, and ignoring the important. Many others have suffered more excruciating deaths without being exalted and deified.

His appearance after death was no different to what many spirits have achieved. He accomplished it better because of his greater spiritual development.

As you have 'sought and found' far enough to find this book, (there is also an online readable version if you search), then you will want to search further for 'divinetruth' (yes, without a space).

I've read many many many books, including divine/spiritual books (also called spiritual channelings), and other human books on spiritual growth, psychology, philosophy, ethics etc. None, none at all whatsoever, is like this divine revelation in book format. Urantia is our own world's name!

‘The Urantia Papers’ (its own formal name) aka ‘The Urantia Book’ is the self-proclaimed fifth epochal divine and spiritual revelation to and for us Humanity (there are other mortal, evolutionary humanities in other inhabited planets, according to this book authored by invisible (to us) celestial, spiritual and divine beings/personalities), and currently there are five epochal revelations so far.

The book is all about GOD, Love, Divinity, Spirituality, our Universe of universes, our own World’s general History, JESUS, and Ourselves…

It has new and so very many Revelations of the Truth, Reality, Values, Meanings, and Facts etc.

It’s about the revelation of GOD our Universal Father, their nature, attributes, their relationship with the Universe and Ourselves, the COSMIC TRINITY, and GOD and their Creatures being a cosmic universal real FAMILY…

The nature and relationships of the Trinity and PARADISE… The genesis and nature of Reality… Introduction of several new words and concepts.

The relative origin, nature, history, and destiny of the Universe of universes, and the same for many entities/beings/creatures/personalities, the Universe being personal mainly…

The family, administration, government, functions, agency, and personnel of our Universe.

The nature and partial history of the central and eternal Universe named Havona (like in Heaven).

The Rebellion of Lucifer in our local system and the planetary Rebellion of the Devil (named Caligastia, according to the book), their history and consequences for our wayward and relatively dark planet.

Of course the origin, history, nature, and destiny of Humanity. The partial origin and properties of our solar system… A general revelation of the inhabited planets and their features.

It reveals so very much and deeply about our afterlife, the places and persons we will meet in the high, celestial spheres of the Universe (we will meet our loved ones and friends). The nature of our creature life and our living features and functions…

It reveals so much about energy, mind, and spirit realities; also why we cannot see directly personal beings such as angels etc. It reveals who the angels are, also. Something about archangels, Melchizedeks, and so forth.

It affirms and reveals who JESUS is: his origin, nature, and the Part IV (of 4 Parts in total of the Urantia Revelation) is about the Life and Teachings of JESUS, Son of GOD and Son of Man. In fact it's a year-by-year account of His life and character and destiny!!!!!

Urantia's revelators say this about itself, among other things in other passages of the book (pages 1007-1008)!:

‘ 92:4.4 (1007.4) There have been many events of religious revelation but only five of epochal significance. These were as follows:

92:4.5 (1007.5) 1. The Dalamatian teachings. The true concept of the First Source and Center was first promulgated on Urantia by the one hundred corporeal members of Prince Caligastia’s staff. This expanding revelation of Deity went on for more than three hundred thousand years until it was suddenly terminated by the planetary secession and the disruption of the teaching regime. Except for the work of Van, the influence of the Dalamatian revelation was practically lost to the whole world. Even the Nodites had forgotten this truth by the time of Adam’s arrival. Of all who received the teachings of the one hundred, the red men held them longest, but the idea of the Great Spirit was but a hazy concept in Amerindian religion when contact with Christianity greatly clarified and strengthened it.

92:4.6 (1007.6) 2. The Edenic teachings. Adam and Eve again portrayed the concept of the Father of all to the evolutionary peoples. The disruption of the first Eden halted the course of the Adamic revelation before it had ever fully started. But the aborted teachings of Adam were carried on by the Sethite priests, and some of these truths have never been entirely lost to the world. The entire trend of Levantine religious evolution was modified by the teachings of the Sethites. But by 2500 b.c. mankind had largely lost sight of the revelation sponsored in the days of Eden.

92:4.7 (1007.7) 3. Melchizedek of Salem. This emergency Son of Nebadon inaugurated the third revelation of truth on Urantia. The cardinal precepts of his teachings were trust and faith. He taught trust in the omnipotent beneficence of God and proclaimed that faith was the act by which men earned God’s favor. His teachings gradually commingled with the beliefs and practices of various evolutionary religions and finally developed into those theologic systems present on Urantia at the opening of the first millennium after Christ.

92:4.8 (1008.1) 4. Jesus of Nazareth. Christ Michael presented for the fourth time to Urantia the concept of God as the Universal Father, and this teaching has generally persisted ever since. The essence of his teaching was love and service, the loving worship which a creature son voluntarily gives in recognition of, and response to, the loving ministry of God his Father; the freewill service which such creature sons bestow upon their brethren in the joyous realization that in this service they are likewise serving God the Father.

92:4.9 (1008.2) 5. The Urantia Papers. The papers, of which this is one, constitute the most recent presentation of truth to the mortals of Urantia. These papers differ from all previous revelations, for they are not the work of a single universe personality but a composite presentation by many beings. But no revelation short of the attainment of the Universal Father can ever be complete. All other celestial ministrations are no more than partial, transient, and practically adapted to local conditions in time and space. While such admissions as this may possibly detract from the immediate force and authority of all revelations, the time has arrived on Urantia when it is advisable to make such frank statements, even at the risk of weakening the future influence and authority of this, the most recent of the revelations of truth to the mortal races of Urantia. ‘
