This is my first book by Melody Grace. I have to say I enjoyed the pace at which she writes. I didn’t realise til I had started that this was book 7, so I wasn’t familiar with all the characters and was meeting them all for the first time. I don’t think it spoiled my enjoyment of the book though.

I liked Zoey to begin with. She had been in love/lust with Blake for years and she went off, reinvented herself as a sexy vamp and came back to claim her man.

Unfortunately, Blake was an up and coming actor and he really was all about the fame. He seemed more in love with himself than he did anything or anyone else.

I think Zoey got a bit immature with the trying to make Blake jealous and she forgot all the lessons she had learned! She came across as quite needy.

Blake was pretty one dimensional. He was happy to do anything if it meant it brought him more fame.

Why these two thought they would actually get it on with each other in any kind of meaningful way was a mystery to me!!

But, despite these ying and yang characters, I enjoyed watching their trials and tribulations as they battled towards a HEA.

I was kindly given a copy for an honest review :)

This is my first book by Melody Grace and it won't be my last. Unwritten is the 7th book in the Beachwood Bay series - each book centres around a different couple so they can be read as a standalone, as I have with this edition.

Zoey has been in love with Blake Callahan since the day she met him. Having grown up together she's seen him grow into all of his perfection....and he's seen her at her most awkward. Her feelings for him have always gone unnoticed and kept securely to herself. Not only does Blake see her as another little sister, but her bestfriend Tegan, the only person she'd ever want to share her feelings with, happens to be his actual little sister and therefore can never know the depth of her feelings.

Fed up of her honorary sister title she takes a job in Paris determined to learn how to become a mature, seductive young woman Blake won't be able to ignore. Having spent her time in Europe growing in confidence she finally returns for New Year's Eve to put her new skills to the test.

Having found Blake minutes before midnight, she surprises him at a party they've both attended and shocks him with her new look. Gathering her courage she does the one thing she's never had the balls to do before - she kisses him. Well into the New Year as well. And more importantly, he kisses her back.

Now she knows he wants her too, her determination to finally be with him doubles and she leaves the party fully intending to not return to Paris. Having always been afraid of what Tegan would say she decides Blake is worth the risk and sets her plan in motion.

A few weeks later she's landed herself a job as an assistant on a film set at Beachwood Bay.

Time and tide wait for no man, so when a young Zoey is left in no doubt that her best Tegan's older brother is firmly planted on the definitely off limits side of the fence - she does what any self-respecting young woman would do - she doesn't hang about to pine over him right under his nose, she turns her back and leaves.
But distance doesn't diminish the way she feels about Blake and when after two years she makes it back state side she has one thing on her mind- she will get her man-Blake Callahan.
Hiding in plain sight Blake has no option but to deal with Zoey, she works on the set of his movie.
But relationships have never been high on his agenda, they have taken more effort than he has been prepared to put in, women always ending up wanting to talk about the one topic he doesn't ever want to discuss.
Zoey has one foot in the door though because through her relationship with Tegan, she doesn't need to bring up his past - she already knows and she understand show painful it is for not only Blake but all the kids, losing your parents was always going to result in a subject that is not open for discussion with just anyone.
While the two years apart may have changed little between them in respect that they have a friendship that has stood the test of time, it is only now that Blake can see the woman that Zoey has become and while the connection between them is strong they both have reasons for questioning whether changing their status is a good idea.

I have read every book in the "Beachwood Bay" series and each book has got better and better.
You can read this book as a stand alone if you want to, but I'd recommend that you read the whole series as the books are amazing.
I absolutely love a forbidden love story and this story was just that.
Zoey has been in love with her best friend brothers, Blake for a very long time. She's always trying to get his attention, but never really having much luck.
Zoey has a rough childhood. She was bullied at school and her parents were never concerned with Zoey and spent most of her childhood pushing her away and having no real relationship with Zoey. Everyday was hell for Zoey until she meets Blake one day and she feels she final found someone who gets her and is important to them.
I couldn't help but feel for Zoey. She has lived through hell for years. This has made her very angry. She thought she found a great friend in Blake. He was the quiet, nice and real boy in her class, until one day he just disappeared. Blake made Zoey feel important in so many ways, so wasn't happy when her 1 true friend just upped and left with no explanation.
Zoey does make friends eventually again with her room mate. What she doesn't no is that Zoey's roommates Teagan has 3 brothers and one of them Is Blake.
Zoey goes out of the country for awhile and when she comes back she has changed. She's not a girl any more, she's a woman. She's more beautiful, worldly. More confident in herself and more confident with men too.
I loved Zoey returning. She completely changed and I loved that about her and that Blake couldn't ignore his feelings anymore as the attraction between them is intense.
