This is a very decent short tale, that would have worked even better as a longer, more fleshed-out novel.

Evelyn is a young English girl working as a barmaid in Scotland, having fled there when her life became endangered due to her visions of the future. Roderick has been blessed by the Gods with Berserker strength and rage, which comes in handy as several clans were fighting. He's also been cursed with the loss of his voice, by an older Berserker, resentful of his strength and power.

They come together at an inn one night, when he allows her to stay in his room to avoid a man who she rebuffed earlier in the inn, and she falls for him, allows herself to be seduced, and then has another vision of him...and his death.

Despite its brevity, there was time for an extended seduction scene, with hot sex, there was a real storyline, that is actually a bit more than I've detailed above, and which was very credible. At the end of this tale, there's an intro to Roderick's brother's tale; he's also a Berserker, but laird of their clan.

A truely wonderfull love story set in the Highlands of Bonnie Scotland, had me enchanted from the first to last page.
Roderick MacLauchlan a feared berserker comes across Evelyn working in a tavern. Evelyn a women with her own special abilities finds herself drawn to the very handsome berserker, after coming to her rescue fate steps in. Sensual and Steamy I loved it so much I would of liked their story to continue alittle longer.
This is the first book I have read from this author, and I can't wait to start reading the next in this series.
Anyone considering buying, get it you will not be disappointed.

A sweet short romance set in the medieval highlands. This is part of a series but this book is a complete story with no cliff hanger making you read other books. A tavern maid who had visions is sent to serve a lone big mute man who is known as a berserker a little wild in normal mode but a great fighter in his berserker form. She has a vision he is due to die but does not know how to help him, especially as he protects her from the a group of men who want to hurt for turning them down. Can she save him, will their attraction grow. It is worth a hour and half to read this little tale.

I had settled down for a long delightful read when... it ended! One moment I was with the hero and heroine after the battle where she collapses, next I was whisked away to his home. Then it ended! Did I miss something?
So disappointing. This had already the elements of a great story but it wasn't even long enough to be called a short story.
It has put me off buying any more of the author's books in case it happens again. I like value for money.

Absolutely loved this book. Must admit to being a "virgin" on berkserker's, never having read anything before about them, so well author on originality! The story is short, but covers everything I needed to know to enjoy this book, can't wait to get the next one. Recommended.

I loved the final three of this series, especially no. 2 but this didn't do anything for me. The relationship between them was quick and I couldn't quite understand why the heroine gave herself to the hero. Their whole relationship was pretty contrived and the ending was kind of anti-climatic. I did read these out of order which maybe didn't help as I was expecting a lot from this one but really I would say skip this one and read the other two. You're not missing out on much with this one. Do really recommend the second and third books though!
