Book Description

More hilarious musings on the ups and downs of parenthood from the Sunday Times Number One Bestselling author, The Unmumsy Mum.

About the Author

Sarah Turner lives in Devon with her husband and their two boys. She started writing as The Unmumsy Mum after becoming disillusioned with the other parenting literature she had read online. Everybody seemed to be coping so well. Where were the tales of mums tearing their hair out after yet another sleepless night and endless re-runs of Peppa Pig? She made a vow then and there to document the reality of parenting, and her blog page (http://theunmumsymum.blogspot.co.uk/) and subsequent Facebook page (www.facebook.com/theunmumsymum) were born. You can follow Sarah’s everyday parenting grumbles on Twitter @theunmumsymum.

Having loved her first book I immediately purchased this one. Whilst I enjoyed reading it, it lacked the hilarity and freshness of the first. I suppose that I'm used to more blogs and pages like the Unmumsy page by now. I'd recommend reading it but unlike the first I don't think its essential reading for parents. A particular highlight is the chapter on Ruth, hilarious.

2nd book from Sarah, & as funny as the first ........ again couldn't put it down and sad it had come to the end. Looking forward to more books as her kids get older. Maybe Teenage Tantrums ? (as that's what we're experiencing at the moment) lol. Again a definate recommend . Seriously funny and easy to identify with.

Well she's nailed it again, I just love the Unmumsy Mum, shooting from the hip of mumminess and telling it how it is, sheer genius. This book is life affirming, real, funny, real, no-holes barred, real, well observed, real - have I mentioned it is real? It chimes with my experience of motherhood in all its glory, good and bad - from those heart-warming moments when your kids are just perfectly behaved and tell you they love you, to the lows of tantrums and whinge-a-thons. Please write a third book as the world needs more unmumsiness to amuse and reassure us all that we're doing ok at parenthood.

Love love love this book! If you have young children/are about to have children or even have grown up children and have been through it all you will relate and find this hilarious. It has taken away so many anxieties I sometimes have about wether I'm parenting 'right' in the eyes of others. It's made me realise what others think, is NOT whats important and actually, we're all in the same boat.

I enjoyed "The unmumsy mum" immensely, laughing out loud, sympathising and empathising all the way through and couldn't wait to dive into her second offering. Although funny and poignant , for me, just didn't pack the same punch as before. I personally got a bit fed up with the self doubty bits , I felt the point was repeated too often which took the fun out of the book.
That being said I applaud Sarah for sharing her JOURNEY with us and brightening up some really Sbomb days. Looking forward to the next installment

I stumbled across this lady's blog a while back, I couldn't wait to read her first book. I enjoyed every page!! To then see she was writing a second book I was so excited so had it on pre order to download on release day! I love the fact I can feel so normal reading her books, yes being a parent is hard work and I remember when mine were that age and I used to think ' my god hurry up and grow up ' now they are 10,12 and 13 and I can assure you they are still A£&#%¥$S at times! But as parents we love them all the same, when they're moaning they're hungry 2 minutes after finished breakfast and raiding your cupboards for snacks which usually means the biscuits or chocolate you were hiding for later will be gone, when they're moaning they are bored and you suggest going out with friends and the response is ' that's effort with rolled eyes ' and they also moan that the t-shirt they wanted to wear when they DO actually go out is not washed and ironed because they left it on the bedroom floor, but of course as a parents it's our fault it couldn't possibly be theirs, or their phone is out of charge and they can't speak to their friends is all your fault because as a parent we should know better you still love them ... do I sometimes wish I walk out the house, yes! But then I'm immediately brought back to earth thinking ' no I need to put their school uniform in the wash for tomorrow ' because god forbid the man of the house who can fix EVERYTHING knows how to work a darn washing machine ... don't worry if your not getting parenting perfect, I've been doing it nearly 14 years and I'm still rubbish at it lol

Reading this book has made me realise that as parents we don't need to compete at all, life isn't a competition! Enjoy your kids enjoy your husband ( even when his being an £@&# womble ) ... LOVE LIFE x

( I hope there is a book 3 ) !!

Have got nothing done during baby's nap time for the last week as I couldn't put the book down. Another wonderful read.
So good to know you're the majority, not the minority and it seems everybody struggles. Raising young kids is hard work but having books like Sarah's makes it more bare able abd puts things in perspective.

I love the unmumsy mum. The way she writes humourously about what is often a rubbishy part of parenting makes you feel so much better! I enjoyed her first book but this one was even better!
