This is a really good read, there is more suspense than romance in this book than there was in book 1 and 2 but i think that was because it was connected to both caroline and dannys mother. The romance between danny and caroline is still smoking hot. i was drawn into the story from the start and i couldnt put it down. The characters are great and felt like they could walk straight out the book. This series has been fantastic to read and i plan to read the rest of this authors books, i still hope jami alden will write more stories about the gemini men with the others who help them Like alex and moreno
However, the character of Danny is very unsympathetic, unlikable, boorish, bull-headed and has a crude mouth on him. If you can ignore that, then it's a good read.
This brings us the ending in the story of the brothers' missing mother. Before Danny joined the Special Forces in his early twenties, he was engaged to marry a girl called Catherine. However, when Catherine needed him most Danny wasn't prepared to stand up and be counted, so she finished with him. In typical fashion Danny blamed her for this and can't see that he was in any way to blame. When he finds out that she married a rich older attorney, he brands her as a gold digger.
Years later they meet again at a funeral. Catherine has found something that links Danny's mother to Catherine's murdered husband. She is being accused of the murder by the police and she wants Danny's help in investigating the murder, in return for what she has found. He turns her down flat. Then he discovers that she too is being targeted to be killed.
