Product Description

In this game of Gothic adventure, one player takes the role of Dracula while up to four others attempt to stop him by controlling Vampire hunters from the famous Bram Stoker novel. Dracula has returned, and is determined to control all of Europe by creating an undead empire of Vampires. Dracula uses a deck of location cards to secretly travel through Europe, leaving a trail of encounters and events for the hunters that chase him. Meanwhile, the hunters attempt to track and destroy Dracula using the limited information available to them - a task easier said than done when their prey has the power to change forms into a wolf or bat, and can even melt away into the mist when confronted. To save Europe and rid the world of Dracula's foul plague, the hunters must destroy Dracula before he earns enough victory points to win the game... will they have enough wit and bravery to defeat the dark count?

The first time you play it'll take over a couple of hours, but once everyone knows what they're doing (as with any board game) it speeds up immensely and this game is definitely one of the most fun that me and my friends have ever played! The thrill of the hunt can be very exciting as you find yourself hot on the heels of the Dracula player, while playing as dracula can be both nerve wracking and incredibly satisfying.

Absolutely recommend!

Fury of Dracula is a board game for adults designed for two to five players. The box states that it is suitable for people aged ten and over but I think some of the rules are quite complex and would probably recommend it to people aged twelve and over.
The board, encounter tokens and character cards are all made from strong cardboard and the decks of cards are plastic coated and very durable. The playing pieces are made from strong plastic and are quite detailed. The gothic artwork on the cards is also great and really enhances the enjoyment of the game. With a bit of care this game could last for years.
The game is set 8 years after Bram Stoker's novel with one player taking the role of Dracula and the other four playing the roles of vampire hunters. All of whom are surviving characters from Stoker's novel; Van Helsing, Mina, Arthur Holmwood and Dr Seward. It is evident from the back story and layout of the game that the creators had a lot of affection and admiration for the book.
Although it can be played with two players I would recommend having at least three. The reason for this is that even in a two player game one player plays as Dracula and the other has to play as all four hunters. Where as if you have at least three players you can equally divide the number of hunters between the players.
The board is a map of Europe at the time of the novel and the hunters have to travel from city to city via road, sea or train searching for Dracula. If they find him they can engage him in combat and try to destroy him. The players move their pieces around openly on the board but Dracula uses a mini map and a deck of location cards to travel around so the hunters have no idea where he is or where he is going.

This is probably in my top 3 board games of all time. It drips theme all over the board and it's incredibly fun and satisfying. You'll be having discussion about how you tracked Dracula down to Swansea only for him to escape and ride the winds back to Castle Dracula to regenerate for one last epic battle. It's actually very quick to setup in comparison to most other games of this level of complexity and we found it very easy to learn and play due to the manual. If you love Dracula and deduction games then basically this is the greatest board game ever made!
