However, I recently changed jobs and started doing some work from home. I had planned to use one of the other profiles to pair this keyboard to my work laptop (which runs Windows 8.1) and was able to do so. The problem arose when I needed to switch back to my MacBook and found it did nothing. Thinking this was a bit strange, tried all 3 varying key combinations to see if that made any difference.
I even resorted to contacting Anker support in case I was doing something incorrectly. The responses I had back from them indicated that the keyboard does not do what it it says it does according to the included instructions. I asked the question what is the purpose then for the three profile buttons if it can't switch between them. I did not get a clear answer to this and in fact, found that Anker almost contradicted themselves at this point.
Bottom line, this keyboard was sadly not fit for purpose. It is a great little keyboard if you plan to only pair it with one device and are limited for space. If you need to pair it with more than one device though, then I'm afraid you are best off looking elsewhere. I resorted to getting the Logitech K380 which was my original choice but saw this and there was an obvious price difference. I've known about Anker for some time and know a few people who have had good experiences with them. Sadly, this was not the case for me.
No problems pairing with my iPad but not a hope in hell with the mac. I gave up trying. Also, the connection keeps dropping off which is the exact same problem I had with another Anker keyboard (integrated iPad2 cover). With both I have to keep switching on and off if I don't type anything within a few seconds. Pain in the neck.
to deal with the delay, as I wouldn't end up with situation where my second keypress registered so my ocuments ll ooked ike his.
It'd well built, sturdy and can cope with proper typing. I find it makes an android TV box/fire stuck much more usable/useful- and switching between mac/stick/android was simple.
Mind you, I am a bit tempted to try the ultra slim version too, and keep the one I like best.
I paid my.own money for product, pais Amazon UK listed price (inc Amazon prime.promotions), with no discount, rebate or other inducement for a review.
Unfortunately after a day of use I realised that the Left Alt key doesn't quite work in combination with some of the other function keys (specifically if you hold it with Left Cmd and Left Ctrl). I used karabiner event viewer to confirm there was an issue and emailed support who confirmed it was like that by design.
Shame about the product, but won't stop me buying anker again. They have one of the best after sales support teams I think I've ever dealt with.
