Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I used this for my Fuji S9600 camera. The set doesn't recharge the 2700 mAh batteries included in an hour but it would 1300mAh batteries. They recharge in about 2 hours - still fantastic!
I read others reviews and they surprised me and came across as idiotic, the unit closes when not in use and can't when in use ... so what (and it's small and light), it's only open when charging. The batteries themselves are fantastic, they last forever, normally I get about 2 days use out of my 2200mAh's but these go 7 days.
The charger fits easily into my gadget bag and recharges off of the car when I travel - it has two red lights that flash when charging, when the flashing goes constant on the batteries are ready.
So good was this buy, at this price, I have ordered an extra set of 2700mAh batteries.
Fantastic purchase, and one I am happy to recommend to you.
I bought this charger and batteries to replace an older very slow uniross charger and 4 x 2100mah cells. (Overnight to charge 4x2100mah)
I use the batteries in a high drain handheld game player (Korean GP2X linux based handheld).
I am happy with the performance of the charger, it manages to charge the 4 aa's in less than two hours, and takes just over an hour to charge a pair. However I find that pulling the plug out and putting it back gets the unit to charge for up to 20 mins more and gives the batteries about another 10 to 15 mins life in my GP2X.
The package is a pain as it cant charge with the cover closed - I have been tempted to remove it (brute force maybe!) as the cover is a complete waste of time and just takes up space.
Unlike some of the reviewers on here I have had no issues with contacts and the batteries just slot in and work OK for me.
I have also used the unit to charge some really old nicads I had lying around and it worked perfectly with those too.
The bottom line is that it works: I dont have to worry about overcharging and the AA's are still going strong after months of almost daily recharging.
Bought ages ago and has had a lot of use. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the position of the cable charging point - it can get knocked squint if you forget to keep the tray fully open. It would have been better in the short end.
I have used Uniross charges for many years and been very happy with them so i had no hesitation in buying this 1, but i wish I had. The charger is very unreliable takes a lot of fiddling to get the batterys to charge some batterys i cant get to charge in this at all (all Uniross brand batteries). It is very rare that i can get 4 batterys to charge at the same time normally only 1 side works. The batteries do not feel very secure when in the charger. The charger has finally gone in the bin as underneath on one side the plastic has melted. I hope this is a blip in uniross's unsual high quality range of chargers.
I'm really not happy with this - if I still had the packaging I would return it.
Agree with the comments about the batteries not secure in their compartments - to the extent that it takes much fiddling about, pressing down to get both lights flashing. Usually one lit will go out, leaving the batteries unequally charged. Extra charging time needed to balance them out.
