excellent book, based on a true story, that actually happened in 1977.set inpembrokeshire, south west wales, the coombs family, who have a dairy farm, areterrorised by strange phenomena, ufo sightings, over a period of twelvemonths. They live in a farmhouse ,on the cliff top overlooking dale.thestory is told as it happened, makes the hairs on the back of your neckstand up.I actually bought this book in 1977,and mislaid it.then in 1982 imoved down to pembrokeshire to live, was in raf, based at brawdy airbase.Icould relate to the coombs story,it was great.

I read this years ago and passed it around family and friends and eventually lost track of it. i was thinking about it today and thought, i'd really like to read it again. All i could remember was Aliens, Wales, Farmers, Brilliant. I did a search on amazon and saw "the uninvited" by Nick Pope. (different book) but immediately knew it was the right name, and sure enough the reviewer above described the book exactly.

I've read some stuff in my time, but no book has ever made me REALLY think about aliens or life on other planets like this one did. I recomend it to anyone who loves to read, and deffinately to anyone who is not sure one way or another about aliens and abductions. I really really couldnt believe what i was reading. I am heading to ebay now to try and track this baby down. And trust me, this time i wont be lending it out again.

My Nan recommended I read this book as I've got a keen interest in UFOs. It's ashame that this book is not in print at the moment but if you can get a second hand copy it is well worth the read. It is one of those books that takes you away to another dimension; you forget you're reading it and get swooned off into the story. It is a true account of a farmers family who are disturbed by paranormal activity and supernatural encounters on their farm. Flying Saucers are spotted, space men in silver suits are lurking outside their window and the farmers cattle keep getting teleported and men in black appear at their door, yet the government deny anything is happening despite the media coverage. This really is a great read, the pace and narrative flow well and the characters are real life, it is a true account and you can tell this from the way it is written, it's a very ernest piece of literature in which draws you into the real life event. Get this book if you are interested aliens, UFOs and men in black. You certainly won't be disappointed I guarantee you that and that's why I'm giving it five stars! ROCK ON!!

First heard about this book in the early eighties then bought it in the early nineties. By that time I was married to Katrina (Tina) the eldest daughter from the book. The family don't speak much about the going ons out at Ripperston farm. Could not put the book down read it in one night, fantastic read well worth a look.

they say to know the future , know your past , we live in a age of smart phone , laptops , 24 hour news, the internet, yet this family had none of the above ,yet the story they told is of classic alien contact ,missing time animal's being transported ,paranormal events the car breaking down, all in common with alien contact, even the alien base , come to 2014 go on to you tube or read any ufo book now and its there today they say there are many alien bases some in the us, greenland, south america, and yes wales, and yes 7 foot tall aliens standing in windows is true too nothing as changed , the only thing that as changed is that people can get the story out faster, ok so you may ask what made me give this book 5 stars , i have a intrest in the ufo world i came across a book called the welsh triangle which i must say is very good in its own right about the wave of ufo in wales and the stack rock the Coomes are in the book along with rose at the hotel, so , i bought the uninvited, only to find its a story of the coomes family it was their story so i could cross check the story and nothing changed ,if you look for points in the book a contactee may be physic , mrs coomes , remote places , the farm ,even the shadow person in the living room , and the poor cows being transported to different farms, it is the classic contact story even the good old govenment as not change the right hon under secretary of state for defence Mr JAMES WELLBELOVED is the brand of dog food i use to feed my dog . but the serious point is if you buy the welsh triangle and the uninvited you get a clear picture of what do's happen even here in the uk i could gone on about lay lines and what the old celts belived but if you can buy both and just cross check the story and get the whole picture

I first read this book in the late 1970's and found it really frightening. It had been passed around the family and we all found it very scary. Fast forward to today, I really wanted to read it again and was waiting for the scary bits. It just didn't do it for me this time. I don't know why but maybe I'm not as scared and impressionable as I was thirty odd years ago. It still makes interesting reading but it reads as a work of fiction in my opinion. Even so, in spite of all that I reckon it is worth a read if you can get it cheap enough as it is rather hard to get hold of.
