I really enjoyed this book. The description doesn't do it justice. Well written, believable characters and a compellingly complicated love interest. I look forward to this series continuing.

HASH(0x962c7918) out of 5 stars And a half stars 1 Feb. 2015

I have mixed feelings about this book. It could be that so much was introduced and will sort out in other books.

It felt a little like a lot was being tossed in. Fae, Ghouls, Vampires, Shifters, Mages, Dragons, Manticore, Chimera, and so on and so on.

I thought some of the scenes could have done with more detail on what was happening and why versus another type of creature or possible good or bad guy. Ursillum, Blac Ops, Mage Council, and various types where you don't know where they stand.

Successful books are good at getting you involved in a world an expanding it over several books with a clear bad guy for that book, the exception being an unexpected betrayal. This book threw so much st you it was not one where you could pick a side. I don't even know at this point if we should side with Emma.

While intriguing, I don't know that there is a character I care about enough to continue with others in the series. The book was just too overdone with sides and not enough knowledge about world's other than earth.

Normally my rating system is 5 stars have to purchase next right away and devour. 4 stars will read next book but not right away. 3 stars okay book, but probably won't pursue. This is literally smack dab in the middle. I Kay continue the series at some point, but not the foreseeable future.

HASH(0x96b76168) out of 5 stars Overall thrilling! 14 Jan. 2015
By Kristin Campbell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is a nonstop adventure, with page turning danger and mystery.
There is a lot of mystery behind who Emma is, what her purpose is, and why she was “hidden.” Her character is very strong, a warrior through and through. She’s a protector, looking out for her closest friends, which aren’t many because she doesn’t trust easily. She is constantly fighting the darkness she feels inside her, and tries to protect the world from forces unknown to her until her world turns upside down. She’s been told one thing for most of her life, to find that everything was a lie.
Characters are introduced to Emma. Alex, who has sworn to protect her, though he would rather kill her for things she can’t remember doing. Zane, who has been sent out to take or kill her, whatever he has to do, though he battles his insane mind in doing so. Beneath the insanity, something else lives. It’s so sad and tragic.
There are people from her past; those she knows, who try to protect her, and those she doesn’t know, who all want something from her. Then there is the mysterious Nathan, who offers his help, but to what gain? Who is he and what does he want in return? I’m really intrigued with his character.
Givens introduces a world full of all monsters and creatures of the imagination. You don’t know what is going to be thrown at Emma next, and you don’t know which direction she’s going to turn or be turned towards. The chapters end in such a way that you couldn’t stop there, you had to start the next chapter to see what happens next. It was overall thrilling!

HASH(0x96f12e84) out of 5 stars Fast paced, energetic read for paranormal lovers 20 Jan. 2015
By Michelle G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
3.5 out of 5 stars

This is an entertaining and fast paced read for any paranormal lovers out there! The action starts on page one and doesn't end until the "To Be Continued". The characters are awesome and likable, and even a little mysterious.

There is some romance here, but the main plot is about the adventures of Emma. She is a strong and independent woman and you will find yourself rooting her on through most of the book. I would have loved a little more character development, but the plot doesn't really allow us to see too deeply into the minds of many of the main characters. I am looking forward to the next installment, as I'm sure many secrets will be revealed!

I recommend this book for any paranormal lovers looking for a energetic read!

HASH(0x962c7d50) out of 5 stars Go, go, go 20 Jan. 2015
By Nikki - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
It takes a lot to shock someone like Emma Hayes, but one mission shocks her to the core. All in a moment, life as she has known it is thrown upside down. Her past only brings more questions about her future, and no one is willing to tell her the whole story. Emma has to choose who to trust and who to fight against with half truths and intuition. As she meets new people and creatures beyond her imagination, she finds out more about herself than she was even searching to find.

Unhidden takes readers into a world of magic, with terrible and wonderful creatures hidden among us. The story starts in action and stays moving until the very end. Small pauses for readers to catch their breath are still filled with attention grabbing details to fill the holes Emma is trying to fill. Excellent read for someone looking for a female lead who does more than just drool over a man! Emma is definitely not one to sit on the sidelines, and this book brings the readers right along with her.

HASH(0x962c7f00) out of 5 stars unbidden. gatekeeper chron 1 8 Feb. 2015

Started off very nicely but repetitive chapters where the main character is knocked out or passes out. Lack of logic on why the main character continues to be drawn to a man who hurts her----this was somewhat repulsive.
