But there is also a more serious note in the wrap up... like the exploration of the nature of the emotions that has developed between the doctor and the men in her life and the decisions that must be made. There is also an all-encompassing explanation in there that tells you how everything is connected. Everything gets wrapped up nice and neat like- there is no cliffhanger here. Cynthia St. Aubin lets you know where everyone's hearts and futures lie. If you want to know the answer to the baby daddy question, the fate of Matilda and the others, and the reason everything happened you'll just have to pick this one up.
Having loved this series from the beginning I was both happy and sad to read this final book but like all the others I devoured it from the very first word to the very last. I read part of it while on the bus and had to try very hard not to laugh out load during certain moments.
The story starts with Matilda find out its true what her mother told her Undeadly - she is pregnant but who is the father. To add to the stress - the blackmailer is back and know she is pregnant and since Matilda doesn't want anyone to know because she is unsure of the father - what will she do. Then her Psychology services are need because Criux has gone a drinking binge with Santa. Will Matilda survive the holidays with everything intact including her mind.

Book #7 in The Case Files of Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist Series
As this series comes to an end, I have to say that I am going to miss these characters. I am not going to spoil who Matilda picks in the end, just know that it does make you shed a tear or two. The author did a wonderful job in bringing all the loose ends together and answer all those burning questions we've had since book one. This is always a super high point in a final book. There weren't many if any grammar mistakes which is always amazing, this author has a knack for writing and one awesome editor. Once again the plot of this series and final book were original and definitely worth the time to get into to. I would recommend this book to any and everyone, but not just this one book, but the entire series. We give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
As Matilda goes off into her happily-ever-after, I can't help but wonder what amazing craziness Cynthia St. Aubin will come up with next! Hopefully we'll find out soon. :)
I will not give any spoilers about who the daddy is, cuz that just, well...spoils it for any who haven't read this yet. I will admit that I looked up the mythology of Kris Kringle, and I learned something new doing that too.
I was very happy to see my friend Wallis in this book, he and I had a "thing" over the summer time, and I've never felt the same since he left.
If you haven't read this series yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? I have laughed, cried, spewed pop and milk out my nose and then got an ending that didn't feel rushed, or leave me in agony!
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Cynthia St. Aubin, big things is my guess!
