This is a very short sweet story, but l found it a delightful read.l usually read storys with a bit of passion but this story for me, flowed at a nice pace.lt stands alone, giving a brief insight to what happened to two orphaned children who get adopted and a lonely couple who marry for the children and find love.

I love a western romance - but this fell flat for me. I don't understand the main character's attraction for each other. There was a whole chapter of just info dumping. The most engaging and believable character was the adopted boy.

This was an enjoyable sweet story of how 2 orphans found a new family and 2 lonely adults found love. The grammar and spelling were not great and could have done with some editing though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Love Story 1 Aug. 2014
By TR - Published on Amazon.com

An Unexpected Family is a captivating story about two people drawn together through their adopted children. This story is based on the real life "Orphan Trains" of the 1800's. Craig and Amanda make a believable couple. The plot is thought provoking. The story is filled with romance and love of family. I look forward to reading the other books in this series!

3.0 out of 5 stars Storyline and characters were great! 18 Aug. 2014
By T. L. Burton - Published on Amazon.com

I gave this story 3stars not because of the storyline or characters but because of writing style..it started out well-written but by the time it tries to develop into story about them getting married, adopting the children, and their life/struggles...it just seemed weak or beginner writing style -sorry.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love of Family 27 April 2015
By Sarah - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was indeed a sweet story about love, both romantic and familial love. The idea of both parents loving each other and each member of the family clearly came out. However, the plot needed to be fleshed out much more fully. The potential is there for a very deep, quite serious love story. Also, the book would profit from careful editing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get rid of that pride and start communicating 7 April 2015
By KB - Published on Amazon.com

The story was a nice story with a happy ending for a couple of orphan train children after encountering a few problems. The characters needed to open up and communicate as well as break down the pride that was getting in the way so they could take care of the children as they needed to be taken care of. Money should not always be an obstacle. It was also a pretty quick read too.
