Undying Embrace Jessica Lee.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, Undying Destiny, and was pleased to get this one for review. We met Arran in book one as working partner to Marcus, who betrayed the Enclave. He feels he should have noticed something was wrong with Marcus, so has left the Enclave and spent the last two years trying to track down and kill him along with Marguerite, the Master who lured him away, and is frankly a real nasty piece of work. Oh I do love a good Bad female :)
At the same time human Enclave employee Elle is in town searching for her sister, who has been missing for three weeks. Elle and Arran have a brief, shared history, a single kiss that reduced Elle to a quivering wreck, before Arran then left suddenly. They're really attracted to each other, a gritty, internal longing that won't be suppressed, though Elle still wants an explanation for his sudden disappearance. However Arran feels he's not good enough for her because of his past actions, that she deserves better and he won't give in...so far anyway. Elle meets him in her search for her sister, when he spots her at the club he's been told Marcus frequents and sparks fly - in all ways!
There's some sultry, sensual, spicy sex between them, taking them two steps forward forward then one step back in relationship terms, with Arran being domineering and protective, saying it's too dangerous for her to be involved and Elle standing up to him, and arguing for her place in the search for her sister. Of course that brings them into contact with Marcus and the dangerous and mad Marguerite, and their survival is on a knife edge... They need more help, but Arran doesn't want to get the Enclave involved.

The second book in the Enclave series is a riveting story with action, suspense, romance, very hot sex and vampires.

When the Enclave is betrayed by his former partner, Aaron is driven to hunt him down and kill him. Gabrielle is looking for her missing sister and the search leads her to the vampire that Aaron is hunting. Can they combine their missions and work together or will the pain of the past get in the way.

The sparks between the two fly off the pages as Aaron tries to fight it and Gabrielle tries to get over it. All the characters in the story are captivating, but these two really capture the attention, Aaron's haunted past adds a depth to the emotion the reader feels and Gabrielle breaks your heart with her sister's plight and the love she feels for Gabrielle, despite how much he's hurt her.

The author brings the story to life with well written and vivid battle scenes and steamy sex scenes. The author hints as some same sex interaction between two male characters, but she does in a very tasteful way and doesn't go into great detail. Of course the other sex scenes in the book could set the book on fire with all the heat portrayed between the couples.

The intrigue draws the reader deeper into this fast paced, eventful book and the plot flows smoothly with great timing and settings that keep the reader well entertained throughout.

This book can be read with reading the first one, but I am sure it won't stay un-read for long after you read this one. The author does a great job of keeping the reader's interest in the story and the characters and I can't wait to read this next book in this series.

HASH(0x9dceb2c4) out of 5 stars Yummy Vamps! 27 Nov. 2013
By K. April Holgate - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the second book in the series, I was not a fan of the first but this really was a step up!! I Loved Gabrielle and Arran!! Their story made me laugh, and cry and fan my face because it was ever so steamy!!

Really great story telling and wonderfully paced. There is so much going on a girl doesn't have time to get bored!! Loads of twists and turns, some expected, some surprising. Ms. Lee really does a wonderful job of crafting the characters. There are so many secondary characters to help make a fuller story. I really was rooting for Markus.

Oh the steam, yeah..there is loads of hot and heavy action to warm up your gurlie parts!! Ya might need to take a cold shower after this one, or during, or just read it while soaking in a cool bath!! Temperatures will skyrocket!

This book ends with things open for another book in the series. Who will it be, what delicious vamp is next to fall for a lucky mortal? I am waiting with baited breath!!

HASH(0x9dcf6018) out of 5 stars Rose's Book Blog Review: Undying Embrace 29 Oct. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is book two of the Enclave. For this of you who met and fell in love with Gabrielle and Arran in Undying Destiny you will absolutely love this novel.

We were first introduced to Gabrielle and Arran in Undying Destiny. That story was about Kenric, Emily, and the Enclave, this story is about Gabrielle and Arran. For the enjoyment of the series and to enjoy these characters it's best to read Undying Destiny before reading Undying Embrace.

Undying Embrace picks up two years after the end of Undying Destiny. Gabrielle is looking for her sister Alex who has been missing for the last few weeks. Her search leads her to a club that reeks vampires. Still human, Gabrielle can't tell for sure that's what this club is but she can tell that if her sister went missing in this club something sinister has happened to her. It's been two years since she last saw Arran, since the night he kissed her and ran away, never to return. It's here that she sees him again and as much as she wants to feel nothing for him she still feels the sting of his rejection.

Gabrielle came to the Enclave seven years ago after she was rescued from a DEAD and has been apart of the family since. Arran and Logan have both loved Gabrielle for a long time, but Arran is the one that has captured her heart. Feeling unworthy of her love, Arran doesn't allow his feeling for her to show on the surface. As much as Gabrielle wants to run away, she wants more to find her sister and like it or not Arran is there to help her find her sister. As their search delves deeper into the more sinister and vampire world, it becomes apparent that at the heart of the evil is none other than former Enclave member Markus and the evil vampire Marguerite.

Markus has become a cold shell of the vampire he used to be. Cold, calculated, and completely under the spell of Marguerite the ancient evil vampire that will do anything to exact her revenge against Kenric and the Enclave. The only shining light is Alex. Alex was taken in my Markus and Marguerite and she's the one weakness Markus has shown. He starts to become possessive of Alex, only allowing her to be fed by him. Will Alex be what can finally save Markus from the evil hold Marguerite has over him? Can Gabrielle and Arran find Alex before it's too late? And can they finally admit their feelings for one another and find love and forever in each other's arms?

Full of passion, vampires, and the search to find oneself and heal, Undying Embrace was a novel I will not soon forget. I cannot wait to read the next Enclave novel and continue the story of the Enclave and all the vampires I have come to love. Jessica weaves a delicious tale that I will not soon forget and I don't really like paranormal romance, 5 stars.

HASH(0xa12d0510) out of 5 stars New (to me) Vampire World! 22 Oct. 2013
By ToryMichaels - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
As usual, I didn't know that this was part of a series (you'd think the "A novel of the enclave" on the cover would clue me in, but noooo...then again I read on my phone, so the print's pretty tiny and easy to overlook). But that didn't stop me from enjoying the book. It pretty much can stand alone, although there was a lot of hatred and anger aimed at one of the villains of the piece that I didn't entirely understand, though the villain's actions for this book certainly deserved anger.

Gabrielle ("Elle") wants to find her sister who's gone missing. She's left her comfortable home with the Enclave to go searching for her. It also gives her some time away from Logan, the vampire who wants to mate with her, because she needs to think about whether or not she wants him like that. They've been working together for a long time now, and though she doesn't want to admit it, she's never gotten over Arran (they were in a hot and heavy relationship a couple years earlier that ended...not so good).

Arran is searching for a couple of pretty evil vampires and his investigation crosses paths with Elle's at a nightclub frequented (owned) by vampires. The sparks fly pretty darned quickly and he tries to protect her even as he's drawn once more to her. He's never gotten over her.

There is a great deal of growth for Elle. She comes to terms with the fact that Arran is a vampire (she had pretty big fang-fear) and falls in love with him all over again. Arran reluctantly has to let Elle risk her own life to keep from smothering her. Of course that doesn't exactly please him because well, he's a typical protective male! And there's a high cost that gets paid for her pursuit of her sister.

There's plenty of blood, guts and action in this book. Lots of lovin' once the two gets past their issues. I was drawn into the world-building Ms. Lee does. I liked her take on vampires, both the Enclave and the DEAD (Death Euphoria ADdicts) vampires. I'll happily read more of her work when given the opportunity and hope to see more from her soon.

And of course, once again, it's Entangled. They get the best books! I'm totally starting to recognize the cover art style when I see them on NetGalley, btw. I don't even need to see the logo - I just recognize the style. YAY!

HASH(0x9dd02270) out of 5 stars The human and the vampire. 22 Oct. 2013
By MizNikki - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
3 1/2 Stars

Gabrielle, a human, is looking for her sister Alexandria who's gone missing when she bumps into the one vampire who gets her hot and particularly bothered since he abandoned her so many years ago.

Arran, seeing Gabrielle again, is unnerved by the emotions he feels, bringing out his possessive and domineering side. He left her because he felt he wasn't good enough for her and he knew he never would be. He's a killer and a vampire. He wouldn't mess up her life. It didn't help things that his best friend betrayed the Enclave to the enemies they were trying to fight.

Arran signs on to help Gabrielle in her search which also leads them to Markus, the betrayer. They both find the closeness a little more than unsettling as old wounds surface and passion ignites.

I didn't get a chance to read the first book, but I had no problem catching on. Some of the actions in this book were not explained enough. We were expected to float by on the words of the character. For instance; we heard all these thing about Markus and how awful and bad he was, but I never read enough about what he did to form my own opinion.

Arran was a little too domineering for my tastes. He was constantly telling Gabrielle what she would and would not do in a condescending manner. And when Gabrielle practically begged him to be with her, it wasn't sweet or sexy, it was off because Arran kept saying no. He should have been the one doing the begging. This happened with the sex also. It was hot, but she was the one answering to him.

Things picked up toward the end and Arran managed to redeem himself. The story continued to keep my interest and I was partially satisfied with the story. I may read the next in the series, but I am in no rush.

HASH(0x9dd02420) out of 5 stars Enclave Hotness! 25 Oct. 2013
By Shirley13 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Undying Embrace is book 2 of the Enclave series. This is Gabrielle and Arran's story. The Enclave is a band of vampire warriors that rid the world if the D.E.A.D. vampires that kill their human prey.
Arran MacLain walked away from the Enclave when his partner Markus (also a former member) was enthralled by a an ancient evil vampire Marguerite and tried to destroy the Enclave. Markus and Marguerite got away but Arran felt it was his duty to hunt his former partner down.
Now enter Gabrielle. She is a human who works for the Enclave after they saved her from a DEAD attack nearly 7 years ago. Gabrielle is on a mission to find her missing sister. She takes some time off to search for her. She has not seen Arran since he walked out of her life. When they run into each other at a club where they are both investigating, sparks start to fly.
I wont reveal anymore of the story but let me say this is now one of my favorite vampire series out there! Jessica Lee puts just enough sizzle and spiciness with an amazing story to keep you begging for more!
