You are probably aware that I love this series, so color me happy when I stumbled across this little novella featuring one of my favorite couples, Noah and Grace.

Oh Noah

I loved this short story, delving deeper into the minds of Noah and Grace with some surprising insights into both of their psyches. Yes Grace I completely agree with you, you can get some amazing ideas from reading books ;)

I’m not going into details about the plot as I think the synopsis does that enough to give an understanding of the trials and tribulations facing this wonderful couple. However, I will say that this story does add another layer to their relationship and is a must for any fan of the series.

One thing I have to mention is the cameo appearance by Grace’s brother, Josh. OH BOY. I really, really want him to get his own story *begs Jen*

In this follow-up novella to Frederick's UNDECLARED, young lovers Grace and Noah find their relationship challenged by Noah's financial and personal insecurities.

I enjoyed UNDECLARED and was eager to read this mini-sequel. The characters are still interesting and believable, especially Lana. Grace and Noah still have crackling chemistry. The dialog is snappy and spirited. Lots of conflict in the first half. Noah is definitely a fish out of water during their holiday visit to Grace's wealthy uncle's home.

There's a pacing problem here. The plot isn't developed enough, even for a novella. So though the piece starts out well, the ending is rushed and more summary than story. There's no attention given to Grace's mother, aunt and uncle as real people. The aunt is made out to be some kind of nasty predator, but even that isn't explored fully. And it isn't only the new characters who suffer from speed-pacing in UNDRESSED. Noah--our hero--has lost his steel. He's whiny and so obsessed with being a "have not" surrounded by "haves" he's almost unattractive.

There's an epilogue that does little other than ruin the rest of the Woodlands series. It basically tells us the plot and ending of Book 3. Seriously, by the end of this I was so bored of successful billionaires, I could weep. All the hot, interesting, REAL guys from UNDECLARED are reduced to Wall Street Wonders. I'm all for fantasy and wish fulfillment but this takes all the raw honesty of the first book and turns it to AT HOME WITH THE KARDASHIANS' NICER NEIGHBORS.

I'm still looking forward to UNRAVELED (book 3) but I need to take a break and forget the ending of this novella if I'm going to have any chance of enjoying it.

I am a huge fan of the Woodlands series so I'm greedy for any extras I can get my hands on! Undressed is a little bonus about Noah and Grace from where Undeclared finished, even though we know their future via Unspoken and The Charlotte Chronicles if you have read them, it was great to get a little snippet of their lives and witness how a certain scene took place in their relationship.

Noah has always felt inadequate in relation to being Grace's partner. Grace's family comes from money and Noah has convinced himself he needs to provide Grace with more than he can. Of course Grace wants the exact opposite, having Noah's love is priceless to her.

This was a lovely story with a great message behind it. Noah was so wrapped up in himself and what he believed Grace wanted that he almost compromised the person he was in order to achieve his version of success. It took Grace's reassurance and love for Noah for him to realise what they had was more than money can buy.

For being a short story so much was packed into Undressed, we got a better insight into Noah and why he felt so insecure about his financial status, we got to meet Grace's family and I was intrigued with her cousin Lana and definitely want more from her in the future and there was just the right amount of sexy times. Noah and Gracie were hot together!

I am a fan of Jen Frederick and her writing and this was a really good short story. It even had the sweetest ending for lovers of The Charlotte Chronicles, I was left with teary eyes and a smile on my face. If you like the Woodlands series or if you just love sweet Christmas reads then Undressed is a good place to start. ~Ava
