No doubt, book contents are excellent. I brought it to teach Childs.
It is very similar to "Additional Pure Mathematics - A modern course by W K CHOW" I used in mid 80s. Those current UK textbooks in market are fancy but too easy.
(I suspected Mr. Sadler made reference to Mr. W K Chow's masterpiece to write this book , OR vice versa... But this book covers more topics e.g. matrix. Besides, Mr. Chow's exercises are more challenging ).
The only comment is that it would be perfect if publisher would shaded / highlight the important formulas / definitions.

This is by far the best A level Maths Text Book I have used. It begins to go into some Further Maths Topics (Complex Nos, Matrices) and covers all other topics thoroughly with good practice problems. A must buy for those who want to be good at maths and want top grades. For those relying solely on the edexcel text books (assuming they are doing their A level with Edexcel), I strongly advise you to purchase this book as it goes into far more depth than those text books.

This is an excellent book and I sailed happily through A-level maths in 1991 using it. However, I am now revising my A-level maths preparatory to becoming a maths teacher and I find that for self-study it is a bit heavy-going. The examples are clear and the exercises have some interesting twists in them, but the brisk explanations seem to be aimed at those who already understand the subject, or who have a teacher on-hand to clarify. I am using Bostock and Chandler for their extremely clear explanations of topics I have completely forgotten, and once I'm comfortable I move on to this book for an extra challenge.

Studying AS and A2 Further Maths at home, bought this book to teach myself. I would be lost without it now, when teaching myself I refer to the edexcel book for the exact specification, then use this one to find the topic (and its covered all of them so far) and make notes from. Much more in depth than other textbooks, and doesn't dumb things down. Could be difficult to use if you don't have a strong foundation in maths before this level.

Easily one of the best pure mathematics textbooks. Some beautiful explanations and an ideal primer for someone with an interest in deepening his or her understanding.

After studying for a year with the Open Uninversity, I have now progressed to full-time "brick" university. Although the first year is mainly an A-Level refresher year, with a few new topics, this book has really helped me brush up on my A-Level Maths. Worth every penny spent.

Not the best book that I have read but it is quite comprehensive and has a nice range of exercises of various difficulties. This book covers virtually all of the A level maths syllabus. The problem with the book is that it assumes you've pretty much mastered most of the prior maths knowledge. Some details are ommitted in the explanations because you're expected to already know them. If you got an A throughout the whole of secondary school then this book is for you but if you're shakey on some topics other books might be better since they give a more elaborative explaination. For example precalculus - a self teaching guide, explains the material more easily than this book but it doesn't cover as much content or have the amount of problems. However I prefer to start with easier texts then build up to more difficult ones.

Better than the modules

Incredible Book!

This is an excellent book for those who both want to review old concepts as well as learn new ones. The examples are thorough and logically correlate to the exercises in each chapter. As a former high school math teacher from an International Baccalaureate school, I constantly recommend this book to students of all ages.
