Format: Audio CD
Adzido have become recognised as 'the' leading music and dance organisation that not only perform, but share their experience. This CD above all others, stands out as a true diverse testimony of what exactly is African music and dance. The show which had the same name was stunning as has been all the others including the most recent "Chesa Chesa." On disc, this CD is the best. It combines social dancing with war dancing, blends voices with the drums which truly "talk" and leads the listener to jump to their feet and join in the fun. Adzido is particularly skillful in performance but at the same time showing how much they enjoy sharing it with the audience and in some cases in practical workshops. If you get a chance to see their shows, don't hesitate - it is the experience that never fades in the memory and you end up just wanting more. "Under African Skies" has an excellent Zulu war dance, superb in its vibrancy as well as musicianship, and provides haunting reminders of significance - as does each and every dance contained within this and other CDs. To enjoy the CD best, make sure your neighbours are out, clear a space, where loose clothing, take off your shoes and socks, turn up the volume, and leap onto the floor, dance yourself crazy with the rhythms that can only be transmitted by Adizdo. Its good for you, keeps you fit, and above all it is absolutely fantastically enjoyable from start to finish. Go for it and go wild!!!!

No idea whether title correct as I am no expert. However it is what I would imagine is real and authentic traditional music. It is drums and chants with a great beat. Full of life and excitement. Very different to the African fusion sounds of say yousso n'dour or Amadou and Miriam or johnny clegg.......all wonderful in their own right......but his cd has the feel of the real thing. I bet they would be wonderful to see live. Great.
