This is a good continuation to the novella. The story kept my interest with the twists and turn. Did not expect the twistas to why Emerson behaved the way he did. All in all, good story line and emotional roller coaster.

I enjoyed this book after reading 'untouched'. I think you definitely have to read the 'untouched' first as it sets the story, however you could read this alone.
The story itself was an easy read but I felt that it was a copy of 'The Notebook' with a hint of 'Fifty shades of grey' mixed into it, not very original at all! The characters were intriguing but nothing that I haven't already read about before in other similar books. If you are a fan of young romance novels with the typical bad boy and good girl then you will love this, but I am still looking for an epic story which will captivate me from beginning to end.

This book is about the love Emerson and Juliet share until her mother dies and Juliet returns home broken hearted over her mother and Emerson. Four years later Juliet has a steady boyfriend but returns to the Summer home her father wants to sell, packing up all her memories and heartache.
By chance she bumps into Emerson, neither can deny their love for each other and we finally understand what happened
all those years ago. Can anything be simple?
Great read couldn't put it down.

I loved the first book and was enjoying this book until Emerson was breaking up with Juliet again. When it was revealed why he did the first time, it was somewhat plausible, but less so the second time around and seemed at odds with the generous gift he had purchased for her and the effort he went to try and win her back, it seemed an unnecessary cliff hanger.

Unbroken is one of those books you know words aren't going to be able to express the feelings it provokes. I actually read this three times in the space of 2 days to try to get to grips with the tumult of emotions that swept through me and I still don't think I'm going to be able to convey it succinctly.

From the synopsis we are aware that Juliet and Emerson had an intense relationship 4 years previously but events tore them apart, they are 2 very different characters in the way they have been raised. However, on an emotional level they are far more alike then anyone gives them credit for. No matter what sort of financial status you have, problems still exist and they can be the same problems.

Present action is interspersed with past recollection and reflection on behalf of the characters adding understating to the characters actions/interactions but also giving depth to the emotions. We are already aware that Juliet and Emerson's relationship did not survive thanks to the synopsis however, the details are revealed in small chunks overshadowing any sense of hope that existed in my imagination. I completely adored both Juliet and Emerson, may heart literally ached for them. While they may have been perceived as being too young for such an intense relationship; you can't help thinking that together is exactly where they should be. They gave each other the missing part of themselves; the soul-mate principal at it's best.

Although I felt that the twist to the story was easy to guess, it did not detract from the outcome and the way in which it shaped the characters.

As a kid, Juliet McKenzie spent every Summer at her family beach house in Cedar Cove. Aged 18, her mom decides on one final family holiday before Juliet goes off to college to start a new life. Then Emerson Ray literally crashes into her life and there begins a whirlwind romance.

'All those books and movies and poems I've read, this is what they were preparing me for, the day when a strange man smiles at me, and makes me forget who I am.'

But then tragedy strikes. And Juliet is left feeling feeling broken and lost and alone. She vows never to return to the place she lost both her mother and the man who owns her heart.

'No warning sirens were going to save me. I guess you never really know the danger, not Until you're the one left, huddled on the ground, surrounded by the pieces of your broken heart.'

Now, four years later, Juliet has built herself a new life. She is weeks from graduation, has a job waiting for her and is in a relationship far different from the hurricane love she experienced with Emerson.

'I barred shutters over my heart, and found myself a steady breeze to love.'

But now she's forced back to Cedar Cove with the plans to pack up her family beach house and get back to her life in the city as soon as possible. But with every great story, things never go to plan, and it doesn't take long before she finds herself face to face with the man who ripped out her heart all those years ago. There's no denying the sizzling sexual chemistry and intense bone crushing love that these two still feel for each other and Juliet soon finds herself sharing some extremely hot stolen moments with him.
