I really like this heart rate monitor because not only is it a nice quality item but no fiddly strap is required for the heart rate function, you just press the sensor button for a few seconds and your heart rate is measured.

The strap is comfortable and I like the style of the watch itself. The buttons are the right size for easy operation.

The setting up of the watch was really very easy. Usually I get stuck with setting watches and I dread the changing of the clocks. This is not going to be a problem with this watch.

Other features include chronograph, stopwatch, alarm, bleep on the hour and light.

Overall I am very impressed with this product!

I'd probably give this item a full five stars if it wasn't for the fact the first one delivered went wrong after a few days. I pressed the backlight button and the light just stayed on. No other functions then worked save for the pulse monitor and the battery ran out quickly because of it. No issues with Amazon's refunds policy (the first time I have had to return anything) and hopefully the replacement will work correctly.

It's a light watch with a very easy to read display, slightly disadvantaged by not having a date function. The heart monitor is easy to use albeit you do sometimes have to wet your wrist with a bit of spit to get the contacts to work properly (you have to press the button, but at the same time have a good contact with the skin on your wrist and the metal backplate). Overall as a simple heart rate monitor and straightforward, no frills , easy to read watch I'd recommend it.

First one I received didn't work at all. Replaced it ok though. Does work well - use it when i'm on my turbo trainer to check pulse. Need to moisten the rear of it sometimes to get good contact. It does explain this in the instructions.

An easy way to get information on your heart rate, avoiding the more complicated (and more accurate ?) methods. I found that it only really worked when I'd started to sweat (due to needing to make a connection to wrist & finger), or I needed to wet the surface to get reading out. Also doubles as a digital watch. Given my current poor level of fitness, the results can be a little scary.

I bought this when I started going to the gym last September. I was a little disappointed that I had to lick my wrist and finger to get a reading, which I gather measured electrical conductivity. So I bought another one that measured blood flow, this one was hopeless at obtaining a reading in the gym, but OK in my armchair. Then I saw another which claimed to monitor pulse rate continuously, rather than just give a one off reading. This one also was difficult to get stabilised in the gym, though was passable in the armchair. So I'm back using the Ultrasport all the time, it is always accurate when compared to the pulse readings from the gym equipment, and though not continual reading lets me know when my pulse has settled to do another set of exercises. A final big plus is that I do not need my glasses to read the display.
2/6/15: After 2 years have found it has a 'sleep' mode. Just hold the lower right hand button for 5 seconds to turn it on or off. Whilst display is off the time still updates. Should be a useful power saver.

We bought this for our father who had been suffering a low heart rate and had a pacemaker fitted -he is now obsessed with it and constantly monitors his pulse rate! It has given him more confidence when out walking, although I'm not sure our mum enjoys the constant updates! Was pleased to find a watch monitor that did not need a chest strap.

This is a constant companion in the Gym. The heart rate monitor can be a little temperamental, but generally accurate which is what I actually bought it for originally. The clock keeps good time and on the odd occasion I need the stop watch I find it easy to use. I would certainly buy this again if I ever lost it.

I ordered this item in April 2012 and delivery was as it said as always for me, it was ordered as I had suffered a Heart Attack and was to do gentle fitness routines, keeping a watch on my Heart Rate.
Started using sometime in July when finished Hospital treatment and found it to be of not much use giving readings that if were true my heart would have burst.
I read the instructions and tried alsorts to get truer readings but to no avail, either incorrect or reverting back to time display.
I bought mine for just under £40 and in August it was advertised for under £18, not sure if it was on offer or others had written in about it and price dropped.
All I use it for now is a wristwatch and am looking for a more reliable monitor.
