This product will tone but is no good for a cardio work out. There is no adjustment for resistance so resistance stays very high and prevents you from going fast, which is what would increase your heart rate.

The straps came off while I was using them and nearly took my eye out. The foot on the front is plastic and has broken after not many uses.

second replacement unit. My wife uses the stepper every day, and on the whole it is a well designed machine which keeps her well trimmed. However the steel bar which the two step units press on in a two and fro action has recently sheared into two pieces. A classic case of metal fatigue. The suppliers have been superb with a fast replacement under the two year guarantee, but as I said, this is now the second unit to fail.. Needs looking into..

It seems very good quality. The whole machine is well made and does what it says on the box. I've had other steppers before, but I wanted now to try one in a slightly higher price bracket. I could really tell the difference. I use the stepper 3 or 4 times a week for about 1 hour. I weigh about 95 kilos. The stepper shows no strain, makes no noises. Other units began quite quickly to squeak or rattle. So far the sale has really paid its way and I'm very satisfied. 5 stars

This stepper doesn't seem to go up and down at an easy speed. Pushing the pedals down takes longer than one would expect after having watched steppers on TV as well as having had other steppers in the past. This makes the workout quite unsatisfying as you can really only step slow or slower. There is no stepping to a music rhythm etc. I have even tried lifting the upper foot entirely from the pedal to try and bring down the other pedal faster with my full body-weight but it still only moves relatively slowly.

So glad I spent a little more on this stepper than be tempted by cheaper, less strong products. To be honest, I am a little over the recommended max weight by a stone and a 'bit'. It performs perfectly with an action like gym equipment not like a home fitness gadget. The little computer works reliably and has a clear, readable face. When it came the whole family wanted a go. It's very fun to use. It now lives in the living room and is used by all, not hidden under my bed like most 'fitness' gadgets. It gets a hell of a pounding each day - we use this machine like most families use their Wii Fit!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Ultrafit Lady Stepper is a great way to keep fit. If you have enough self-discipline, you can exercise while doing other things, e.g. watching TV, and work up a sweat. It was easy to put together, no assembly is needed other than attaching the stretchy training ropes and it only took a second to figure out the small computer which documents how many steps you take per minute, the duration of a work-out session and how many calories you burn. With frequent use, the Stepper will tone your legs and your gluteus maximus. However, the reason for my three-star review is the resistance of the stepper. As other reviews note, there is no option to change the resistance and therefore it is impossible to get a good cardio workout. Also, this is a minor complaint but I am not keen on the colour: I would have preferred a more stylish option: grey, black or silver, perhaps.

The arm expander bands snapped off in less than 2 months, even with light duty use. An inferior product in spite of it's expensive retail price. The stepper itself is still usable but judging by the squeaking I wonder how much longer that will last. The bands clip on the mainframe, so it should be an easy matter to get them replaced. But in spite of several requests to Ultrasport, I have been ignored - even with a request from Amazon. Most unprofessional which doesn't do them any favours. I will never buy another Ultrasport product
