I bought this for my Dad, who's a retired scientist getting very bored at not being able to read properly because of cataracts. He doesn't read fiction and misses the Times crossword, so I was looking for something a bit challenging for him. These crosswords are not up to the Times standards, but proved cryptic enough to entertain him while he was recovering from an operation. You have to watch the answers because this is an American book so uses American spellings, but he soon got used to that. In fact, I am glad there are two further crossword books in this series because he is devouring this at quite a rate of knots so I'll have to order another one soon ... There is a big opening here for British publishers to do large-print crossword books: somebody ought to tell them!
