When a wrecked ship is found to contain the bodies of 25 young Asian girls Lorne is determined to investigate in spite of reservations from both her husband and father. She teams up with former colleagues DS Katy Foster and DCI Sean Roberts and soon finds herself in serious danger.
This is another great story showing the tenacity of Lorne even in the face of great risk to herself. I was delighted to see some of her Met colleagues as well as the wonderful character that is psychic Carol Lang. Along with the newspaper reporter who gets a shock when meeting Tony for the first time she adds a little light relief to the story. I sincerely hope that we haven't yet seen the end of Lorne and Tony.
More please Mel.

well this was book 6 in a series that i've trully enjoyed reading.
I'm a little sad that this is probably the last in the series, although we can live in hope for another one one day.
A great read, i didnt want to stop reading, i needed to carry on to see what was happening, but as i got towards the end i didnt want to read because i knew once i finished it that was it...lol..

May i suggest a box of tissues for when you get near the end, and maybe reading it on your own, not in public..lol

Thanks again Mel for a fantastic series, i just cant wait to see what you write next. looking forward to the new book...

This is a superb collection of books tangling suspense thriller, whodunnit, police skulduggery, goodies, baddies and general family chaos into a storyline that you really want to be part of. I love the main character - Lorne who struggles with maintaining the balance between home life, a hectic work schedule, her love life and her inner demons but somehow manages to get things into perspective. I winced at the harrowing graphic descriptions of the crimes and felt every pain of the victims which is testament to the author for pulling me into the story and making me part of the scenes - if only as an onlooker - but nevertheless I was there! I'm feasting on the whole series - all bought and waiting to be enjoyed - up to book 6 so far and not a single regret in buying them. Enjoy them too - but read them in order as the background stories kind of follow on.

I bought this book back in 2013 and only just saw that I hadn't reviewed it, very naughty of me,as its a good book as you would expect in this series.I like the fact that Lorne doesn't stand still, in this book as well as running an animal sanctuary, she is doing her investigations into a rather nasty crime.I like the appearances of former associates that she worked with in the police force and the psychic is a great character, all in all another great read .

Fast moving and lots of action. A bit too much action. It all happens. After all that has happened in the previous books I would think Lorne would want to live a quiet life, but the story is gritty and believable. If you have read the other books in this series than you have to read this one. I am now going to read the 3rd book, about the unicorn, I feel I had overloaded on the unicorn hence going straight to 4th book.

I can safely say that `Ultimate Justice' is one of my favourite novels from the Justice series written by the ever so fantastic Mel Comley to date. This series just gets better and better.

This story kicks off with a tragedy at sea. A ship containing an illegal 'cargo' of Asian girls, to be sold and used as sex slaves, is caught in a storm, capsizes and sinks off the coast of Kent. No one survives and soon numerous corpses are washed ashore.

Private Investigator Lorne Warner is horrified by the news and smelling foul play, she immediately feels the urge to dig deeper into the story. With the help of an investigative journalist, her husband Tony and DS Katy Foster she discovers that there is a whole racket of illegal human trafficking going on which may have the full backing of several high profile dignitaries.

Soon the case proves hard to crack as the associates involved in this operation are powerful and determined to stop at nothing in order to safeguard their business. This includes eliminating their number one cause of concern who is sticking her nose in their affairs... Lorne Warner.

Once you start reading this fast paced novel you won't want to stop to discover what will happen next. The final part will leave you gasping for air...literally.

By the way, Pete Childs will also have something to say in all this.

I have already started to read the next and newest instalment in the Justice Series - Virtual Justice - and from the first pages it already looks to be unfolding into another knock out novel.

I gave 5 stars to Ultimate Justice:

5 stars for the idea behind and the main theme of the novel
5 stars for the brilliant plot with all its twists and turns
5 stars for the realistic and wonderful cast of lovable characters
5 stars for the impeccable narration and dialogue
5 stars for the fine grammar and punctuation...but mostly...

5 stars to Mel Comley !!!

I have read all 6 books in this series and apart from a 4 star for the fifth book I have given all the others a well deserved 5 stars. Great characters, interesting plots and keeps you turning the pages long after you should be trying to sleep or get jobs done!
