Since mid-80's a countless number of T.Rex compilations has been pressed by various labels and probably there will be more in the future.
This one, issued with cooperation with the official Marc Bolan fan club (and highly recommended by them at the time!) contains all the hits that entered the UK top 50: from Deborah (1968) to Soul of My Suit (1977), that's why it's the most comprehensive in comparison to the rest. Anybody who wants to explore 70's commercial rock in general and glamrock in particular and wishes to have only one representative T Rex cd in his collection - this one should be his default.
After listening to this cd over and over, one can understand why Marc Bolan, more than 30 years after his untimely tragic death can't be forgotten.

I have fond memories as a twenty year old playing & listening at parties to Deborah,Ride a White Swan,I love to Boogie,Hot love, Get it on etc. I had forgotten just how many hits T. Rex made during the 70's until I saw & heard a tribute band who played all of the hits on this album. You can spend a whole lot more on other T.Rex albums which don't even have all of these well known hits.I thoroughly recommend this album to anyone who liked the mainstream T.Rex music

All of the hits are included on this 'Ultimate Collection'. Also included are four bonus tracks that include a previously unreleased song called 'Plateau Skull' making a total of 24 songs. This CD collection is difficult to find fault with. My only two minor criticisms are firstly that the songs are not delivered in chronological order and secondly that a photograph is used on the back (and also the inner notes leaflet) that was taken from a TV advert that had featured '20th Century Boy'. I find that the use of this photograph cheapens the presentation to some degree .These are very minor quibbles but listeners can be confident that this CD presents a brilliant set of classic Marc Bolan / T. Rex tracks that convey the excitement and creativity of the Glam era when TOTPs ruled the airways here in the UK and music was melodic ,flamboyant and fun .
